This author is a complete idiot and I’m curious as to what diploma-mill gave this idiot an Ph.D. First off, he’s completely unaware that the rates of black men beating and shooting each other is exponentially higher than cops shooting them.
I feel obliged to mention that this is a vulgar ( ahem ) abuse of the term, "exponential". Of course, the term properly applies to a rate of growth proportionial to the quantity, so the mere syntax of this sentence disqualifies the concept.
OTOH, I recognize that this abuse of the term has linguistic currency, but it is still an abuse.

If you look at her publications at the first link, she is part of the academic racial grievance industry. I am reminded of the famous Booker T. Washington quote: “There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
That was written in 1910, and I am certain he would be horrified at the instutionalization of that class as on display here.
