Ted Cruz did say he support the gang of 8 bill if they would add a provision that would bar those granted amnesty from voting for 25 years. He only did it to prove the point that amnesty was all about creating millions of new registered Democrats. He was right the Democrats shot down his provision.
Schumer said that if there was no citizenship, there was no “reform”. Who tried to eliminate the citizenship provision (which, by the chief leader of the Gang’s own standard, destroyed the bill)? Ted Cruz!

not sure and i could be wrong but Ted stripped the citizen provision. Rush had the 25 year deal in his radio proposal — not really a legislative proposal unless rush is now in congress somewhere.
