CRUZ WEB SITE: In 2013, Sen. Cruz proposed amendments to the "Gang of 8" bill that would strengthen border security, expand green card opportunities, increase high-skilled "H1B" visas, prevent illegal aliens from receiving welfare benefits, and enforce the rule of law.
Thus the confusion is perpetuated..... even after the bill died, when he had the opportunity, he did not identify his amendment as a "poison pill."
Cruz glaringly omitted his current stance....that he was bluffing.
‘On Cruz’ official Senate web site-——Cruz posted on his Immigration page what he apparently considers to be his accomplishments:

Well well. Imagine that.
Actually no, it doesn’t perpetuate the confusion. It is ccrystal clear. It lists all the great things the amendment would have done if passed. Nothing, as noted, about exposing anyone or forcing anyone to acknowledge amnesty. Just a rundown of how wonderful comprehensive immigration reform would have been if Cruz’ amazing amendment would have passed.
And just when I had actually bought into Cruz’ twisted, tortuous, convoluted explanation of why he REALLY proposed this amendment.
I won’t make that mistake again.
Cruz has a good ant-Establishment act going on. But he is Ivy League lawyer politician all they way. The “Maverick” thing is a nice touch.
