Outlaw motorcycle clubs, inner city drug dealer gangs, Mafia “families” all seem to have certain written and unwritten rules.

And for the most part, they can and will use violence to uphold their dominance and status over others, all of the while endangering the law abiding civilians around them.

Law enforcement does the best they can with the resources available. Mayor Giuliani used “Donny Brasco” (Joe Pistone) who infiltrated the NYC mafia. They used RICO provisions, to take down many top level mafia figures, who had been in charge of and commited murder and mayhem.

If Texas law enforcement uses infiltrators, more power to them.

Five mafia families of NYC, Crips & Bloods, Hell’s Angels, Mongols, Banditos, Cossacks.

Little or no difference. If you have empathy or sympathy for those who knowingly hang out with such people and groups, then you are electing to be closer to the problem, than to the solution, IMO.

“Outlaw motorcycle clubs”

From what I see now there is no need to preface ‘motorcycle club’ with ‘outlaw’.

There are MC’s and there are ‘riding clubs’.

You get it.

Lawlessness —> anarchy.

The cops have to deal with it because their duty is to the community.

The worse the criminal behavior . . . the more LE needed, SADLY! Lawlessness needs to be rooted out root and branch, from the culture itself. Modifying culture is not the job of the government nor LE, nor should it be. It is the job of the citizenry to use their moral example, their voice, to decry and root out criminality. And to support LE to the extent necessary to root out criminality and protect the honest citizenry to the extent they logically can be expected to do so — which, one has to admit, is not all that much. If civilization goes down, LE can’t hold the breech and indeed is subject to the same temptations of lawlessness as the bulk of the citizenry they are honor-bound to protect.

Anyone who condones, winks at, excuses lawlessness is merely causing the need for increased law enforcement, to restore order to society. And the same acceptance of criminal behavior affects the pool of candidates from which come the cops, the DAs, the judges, etc. Condone criminality, then you get a criminal system.

In a lawless society, cops who come from a lawless society are subject to bribes from the lawless. We hold LE to a higher standard than we do outlaw gangs and rightfully so, but when/if outlaw gangs are tolerated by society, do not be surprised to find cops, DAs, judges on the take. One has to only look at the example of the Mafia. Decades of corruption at all levels, PAID FOR by the LAWLESS! The judicial system could only become corrupted, because there were lawless actors willing to pressure and extort and blackmail and bribe.

Civilization is a fragile construct. It is a treasure that only civilized people can enjoy. A lawless society is a society of tyranny, tyranny from the lawless and then eventually by civil authority who try to hold back the chaos, but ultimately cannot, unless resorting to another tyranny and that cannot, being uncivilized, uphold civilization.
