Question: Why are Americans so certain there will be a presidential election in 2016 and that Barack Obama will leave office in January 2017?
Answer: Because it’s the law and because it’s American tradition.
However, we currently have a man in the White House who respects neither the law nor the American tradition of peaceful changes of power.
With regard to his contempt of the law, here are just a few examples:
•He abused his executive authority for the purpose of effectively changing immigration law, even after admitting repeatedly that he had no constitutional authority to do so. He even broke administrative law in the process, according to a federal judge who reviewed the action and ruled it was illegal. Obama’s response? He dug in his heels and doubled down in his determination to carry out his illegal plan, threatening any government employees who refused to execute his order with retribution.
•He conducted military intervention in Libya without congressional approval.
•In Operation Fast and Furious, the Obama administration ordered gun store owners to illegally sell thousands of firearms to Mexican drug dealers, resulting in the deaths of many including Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.
•He gave $535 million in taxpayer dollars to campaign contributors and lobbyists, claiming it was for a revolutionary “green energy” startup called Solyndra that would create 4,000 new jobs. The company quickly went bankrupt, after selling its product for less than the cost of production. By publicly overstating the company’s financial condition, Obama broke the same law that resulted in Martha Stewart, a private citizen, going to prison....

He will ban guns by executive order.
NO ONE has stopped him yet.
Congress and the military just let him get away with whatever he wants.
I could easily see this happening.
What difference does it make?
Either way he’ll keep signing executive orders.
Hmmmm, now a days Secret Service and go down seem to be synonymous, at least under this misadministration!
Obama will have no trouble remaining in power past January 20, 2017 if he wants to. All he has to do is to issue an executive order cancelling the 2016 election. Then the New York Times, Washington Post and the alphabet soup networks would not only approve but praise him for his boldness. The Boehner-led House and the McConnell-led Senate would have no objections, and neither would the Roberts court.
Obama needs to be wrapped in a straitjacket, and placed in a padded cell, and fed school lunches.
No doubt.
But who knows, his narcissism could trigger a lot of strange behavior.
Physical extraction is always an option that many in the military would likely support.
Not so sure. The Republicans won the Senate in a landslide last November, have the biggest majority they have had in the House in eight decades, and justices chosen by Republican presidents dominate the Supreme Court. Yet Obama controls all three of these institutions.
There will be an election but he might not leave. He might just be the Democrat candidate. Leftists can and will do without the Constitution but they must have elections, tightly controlled elections, but elections nonetheless. Even Stalin had regular elections.
His “troops” get an infusion of cash from Uncle Sugar every month on their EBT cards, so they can demonstrate, protest, riot, loot and play the knockout game while we work, take care of a household or go to doctor appointments.
He can stay in the White House but if the congress, courts and military do not recognize him as president, he can do nothing.
He will leave office, but he will be a Jesse Jackson/All Sharpton on steroids. He will lead small angry mobs against America which will have a controlling influence.
He will try to stay in and very possibly succeed.
He’s our Hugo Chavez. He knows the script. We’d better learn it.
Oh look, it’s one of these articles. Right on time, too - about two years left in Obama’s second term. I remember the same articles popping up around this time in 1999 and 2007, too.
Yawn.
Position is everything.
He did not say anything about leaving office in 2016
A rather more serious, physical Constitutional crisis, covered in our Constitution as being within the Rights of the People to seek redress, and respect for OUR laws, by the people who SERVE in public office. Any of them.
And don’t expect for all the police functionalities to defend what they know would be UnConstitutional illegal behaviour.
