I don’t care if anyone “pushes” their religion, as long as they refrain from disparaging mine.
Your words remind me of visiting the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw where all the Jews were moved to. Eventually they were all exterminated in places like Auschwitz.
Is that coming for Catholic? Sometimes I think so.
I certainly did not post key words that sniped at anyone; they were terms such as "enough already, Christianity, unity and "peace." Now, yes, the comments I made were invectives thrown at posters. I don't deny that; but they deserved every word directed at them and more. Outside of Caucus threads the religious forum is based on sniping at posters and insulting other's beliefs. Mostly its a few alleged Evangelicals damning those Papists, pedophiles, pagans, cracker-eaters, cannibals and Mary-worshipping heretics to Hell if they don't convert to the Western Branch of American Reform Presbylutheranism or the Northern Conservative Baptist Great Lakes Region Council of 1879. Then a very small contingent of Catholics tries to fight back.
**(as of Easter Vigil).**
Welcome home!
No one is forced to read any thread on here. Ignore them if you do not agree. It is really very simple. I enjoy them because I love to learn what makes others tick.
Even though it is clear to some of us that Christianity is under attack, there are still those who consider themselves Christians who attack Christians. Still, I have hope for the future.
#159 is a classic example of their Alinsky tactics.
C: Your words about my faith are offensive.
P: It’s not my fault your offended.
C: Really, you can’t see how offensive it is to say I’m not a Christian?
P: If you don’t like it, don’t click on the thread!
You make ugly remarks about 1 billion people’s religion, and when they express their disappointment about what you typed you tell them they should not have read the thread to begin with! Bully in the schoolyard.
True.
Really?
Ignore them if you do not agree.
Since when is Catholic bashing agreement mandatory?
It is really very simple.
It's been my practice to AVOID these threads, but no longer.
I enjoy them because I love to learn what makes others tick.
Weird.
Also, the “P” should actually be a few key names, but I don't feel like typing their names. We know who they are anyhow. Most FReepers, C and P, are levelheaded conservatives I'd fight with shoulder to shoulder anytime!
I have always been interested in people and their beliefs. I am very curious especially the last decade or two. After my daughter died in 04, my brother in 06, my husband 2 months later, my bil 2 weeks later and then my mom in January, 2007, I discovered God was/is the answer and I turned to reading. When my daughter met 3 cousins in DC, their only bad thing about me they found was my love of reading. Then, when I went through a very hard time a few years ago, I turned to reading even more, including the Bible. Now, I had eye muscle surgery on my right eye a few months ago and will have surgery on both eyes on the 19th. Believe me, it is no fun seeing double due to 2 torn eye muscles. I am not afraid of the surgery but I do not look forward to my checkups. My dr deadens my eye and uses tweezers to stretch the eye muscles. I still laugh at what she told me at my last checkup. She sad I was her very best patient because I did not move when she was using the tweezers. Who would move with tweezers in their eye? Not me ! God is the answer. The only answer.
I missed that completely. Sorry.
Prayers for your surgery on the 19th. I will have leaser surgery on one of my eyes on the 18th.
FR would be a better site without the religion threads. They just create conflict between the Catholics and Protestants (for whatever reason the Eastern Orthodox dont get picked on as much).
