I appreciate your comments. Just curious, Resettozero, but why did you think I was a guy? Was it the non-gender specific moniker or my “style” on the forums?

If there was ever a place in need of an exorcism....
Our Lady is the woman prophesied in Genesis who crushes the head of the serpent. Remain close to her, and the devil will flee.
-Fr. Gabriel Amorth, Chief Exorcist of Rome
In addition to this being the first day of May [the "month which the piety of the faithful has especially dedicated to Our Blessed Lady," and it is the occasion for a "moving tribute of faith and love which Catholics in every part of the world [pay] to the Queen of Heaven. During this month Christians, both in church and in the privacy of the home,
offer up to Mary from their hearts an especially fervent and loving homage of prayer and veneration. In this month, too, the benefits of God's mercy come down to us from her throne in greater abundance" (Paul VI: Encyclical on the Month of May, no. 1)], it is also the 90th birthday of Fr. Gabriel Amorth, Chief Exorcist of Rome.
May Mary and Father work together [along with St. Joseph the worker] to aid in Christian charity amongst all open posters online.

I’d rather keep it a mixed forum.

James 4:6-8 But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Thanks, metmom, but it’s my last-ditch effort to help clean up the dreadful disrespect on the religion forum. Dark and dreary, there’s nothing being resolved in there. Some commentary from men is repulsive at best. I think you can see that. And vile language doesn’t come from the mouths of men who love Our Lady. It just doesn’t happen, and there’s good reason for that. Respect for women starts with Mary.

If this is directed toward resettozero, you best look over his commentary some more, and then tell me what "chivalry" means to you. My daughter said it means a man treating a woman like a princess. Not a bad answer.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

You realize that means "Respect for women starts with respect for Mary."
I left some words out, just like "we pray to Mary," instead of "we pray to Mary to intercede us."
I'm sure you could come up with some great graphics or cartoons on that level.....Catholics using "shorthand." :)

Respect for women starts with Mary. Nonsense.
Mary is not the end all and be all of all decent behavior or Christian life..
I see precious little in your posts about Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It's Mary this and Mary that, and how wonderful Mary is, etc.
Do you have ANY room in your religious life for JESUS?

Of course! In addition to being a daily-Mass Catholic, this Lent, for the fourth year in a row, I spent seven hours a week
directly with Jesus at Eucharistic adoration. That's 42 hours, and for the first time, some of these hours were nocturnal, something I've always wanted to do but was too lazy, too sick, or too lazy. :)
By nocturnal adoration you will obtain from My Heart
things which cannot be obtained from Me in any other way,
especially the liberation of souls
from the influence and oppression of the powers of darkness.
"Visit Me by Night," from Fr. Kirby
It was incredible to be with Jesus during these nocturnal hours!! And there was a time or three I'd walk in [this would be Friday at 3:00 a.m.], and there would be between seven to even eleven peoples there praying; one couple brings their children and the kids sleep in sleeping bags. Most [but not all] of these adorers are Mexican peoples. Through the miracle bestowed upon Juan Diego, "Our Lady of Guadalupe," their faith can be on fire. Anyway, the two [out of the seven to eleven] who are regular adorers (they are married) are there from 11 p.m. Thursday night until Friday at 3:00 a.m.
every single week. Amazing!
Here is a letter, which was posted at the chapel, from Mother Teresa. She mentions "His strength and His power." Jesus, we adore you!

Our Lady is the woman prophesied in Genesis who crushes the head of the serpent. Remain close to her, and the devil will flee. -Fr. Gabriel Amorth, Chief Exorcist of Rome Except that the "woman" in Genesis doesn't crush the head of the serpent - her SEED (Jesus) does. Read it for yourself:
The LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you will go, And dust you will eat All the days of your life; And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; he shall crush thy head, and thou shalt crush his heel." (Gen. 3:14,15)

Interesting! This is the translation in our Bible:
14
Then the LORD God said to the snake:
Because you have done this,
cursed are you
among all the animals, tame or wild;
On your belly you shall crawl,
and dust you shall eat
all the days of your life.* f
15
I will put enmity between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
They will strike at your head,
while you strike at their heel.* g
With this as an explanation:
* [3:14] Each of the three punishments (the snake, the woman, the man) has a double aspect, one affecting the individual and the other affecting a basic relationship. The snake previously stood upright, enjoyed a reputation for being shrewder than other creatures, and could converse with human beings as in vv. 15. It must now move on its belly, is more cursed than any creature, and inspires revulsion in human beings (v. 15).
* [3:15] They will strike
at their heel: the antecedent for they and their is the collective noun offspring, i.e., all the descendants of the woman. Christian tradition has seen in this passage, however, more than unending hostility between snakes and human beings. The snake was identified with the devil (Wis 2:24; Jn 8:44; Rev 12:9; 20:2), whose eventual defeat seemed implied in the verse. Because the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil (1 Jn 3:8), the passage was understood as the first promise of a redeemer for fallen humankind, the protoevangelium. Irenaeus of Lyons (ca. A.D. 130200), in his Against Heresies 5.21.1, followed by several other Fathers of the Church, interpreted the verse as referring to Christ, and cited Gal 3:19 and 4:4 to support the reference. Another interpretive translation is ipsa, she, and is reflected in Jeromes Vulgate. She was thought to refer to Mary, the mother of the messiah. In Christian art Mary is sometimes depicted with her foot on the head of the serpent.

Is it any wonder why there are so many debates regarding religion, when there are so many different religions to debate? From the website of the
Church of St. Francis:
"Religion does not mean dogma, doctrine, or denominational regulation. It does not require rigid ceremonial or ritual. It does not require institutional churches. HOWEVER, rituals and places where they can be performed are invaluable tools that should be used to aid and strengthen mans spiritual development. Divine energy permeates the whole universe and is channeled through it like all other forces known to man. An effective tool for its channelling is the Holy Eucharist (Mass) as celebrated in the Liberal Catholic Church. It proves to be a medium most perfectly suited to the flow of spiritual energy, as frequently attested to by those possessing trained clairvoyant sight. The work of the Liberal Catholic Church, while seemingly of the character of institutionalized worship, is free from rigid structuring, except that in their outer forms its services provide the visible channel facilitating the transmission of that spiritual (divine) energy down to the physical level. It is essential that the mind be completely free to participate in the services of the Liberal Catholic Church according to each persons inclinations and his potential for response. Thus, there can be no authority dictating beliefs, creeds, or dogmas, nor setting up restrictions which inhibit the partaking of any of the Churchs Sacraments. In all, the individuals conscience commands supreme authority and respect."
So the Church of St. Francis honors [with pinwheels] those whose lives were lost to child abuse in Illinois, but they have no opinion on their website (unless I missed it) regarding abortion [the biggest killer of children in Illinois].
This from Wiki on Independent Catholic Churches:
Independent Catholic churches are Christian groups, particularly small groups, led by bishops and identifying with Catholic tradition but are not in communion with the Roman Catholic Church nor with any other churches whose sacraments are recognized by the Roman Catholic Church (such as the Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox churches).
