Ah, got it.

Although there have been long discussions about minor children being able to give up US nationality while overseas when adopted by foreign nationals.

No real conclusion. But since Zero probably was not born in the US, it’s moot.

Although there have been long discussions about minor children being able to give up US nationality while overseas when adopted by foreign nationals.

It would then be up to the kids to go to the American consulate, upon reaching their majority, to formally renounce their US citizenship (and nationality...they're not quite the same thing).
