Be aware that adoption and acquiring foreign citizenship thereby does not change the status of a child born in the USA.

In the eyes of American law, the child remains a US citizen until renouncing that citizenship as an adult!

The argument that adoption by Soetoro and, thus, becoming a citizen of Indonesia permanently changed Obama’s citizenship status in the USA is completely specious.


That’s making the assumption that the mythical parentage in Bill Ayer’s “composite characters” book is real... Not a safe assumption to work from.

I made no assumptions. I spoke in terms of "a child born in the the USA". And the statement is absolutely true -- for any "child born in the USA".

It follows that would also be true for Obama, if he was born in the USA (and I don't know if he was...or wasn't).
