I gave Brown Deer an opportunity to continue when I realized I might have been wrong to make fun of what he posted, so I reposted the lead-in paragraph so he could continue.
He didn’t reply directly.

As the thread progressed on that subject, it became clear (to me) that there’s a good reason that author’s work isn’t welcome on FR. He’s a muckraker and a sensationalist. Right now. If I ever find reason to change my mind, I’ll let you know.

And yes, I understand the progression of comments might have been confusing.

Jim, Fred NERKS says that this authors works is not allowed on freerepublic. Is that correct ? Of course all material quotes would be given proper recognition !
