Bank Susila Bakti is really a bank for all the Subud members, but because
everything is also subject to the restrictions imposed by various countries, the citizens of other countries must, whether they like it or not, conform to the regulations of those countries. That is why Bank Susila Bakti has not been able to comply with Bapak’s principles and aims, which are that Subud should establish a bank for the Subud members of the whole world, but up to now we have in fact only been able to use it within our own circles; that is, amongst Indonesians. Thus the people in other countries must still, as it were, put their trust in the members here to deposit and pay out their contributions to Bank Susila Bakti, which been established here But we hope that eventually there will be new regulations, for of course no human arrangements remain the same for over, but they keep changing and changing again. Who knows but that Bank Susila Bakti will one day become an international bank, a bank for the whole world. And only then, only later, shall we really be able to know and to feel how great and how wide is the extent of the ideas which Bapak first sparked of at the International
Congress, so that eventually he established Bank Susila Bakti.

One of the conventional banks, PT Bank Susila Bakti (BSB) owned jointly by Employee Welfare Foundation (YKP) of PT Bank Dagang Negara and PT Mahkota Prestasi also suffered from the crisis. BSB sought to survive the crisis by merger with other banks and inviting foreign investors.
At the same time, the government merged four banks (Bank Dagang Negara, Bank Bumi Daya, Bank Exim, and Bapindo) to become a new bank under the name PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) on July 31, 1999. The merger policy also positioned and declared PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) as the new majority owner of BSB.
Further to the merger, Bank Mandiri embarked on consolidation and commissioned Sharia Banking Development Team. The team aims to develop sharia banking business services within the Bank Mandiri business group as a response to the law enforcement of UU No. 10 Year of 1998 that allows commercial banks for running sharia transaction services (dual banking system).

4.1. Profile of Bank Syariah Mandiri

Bank Syariah Mandiri was established from the effort of PT. Bank Susila Bakti, owned by Yayasan Kesejahteraan Pegawai (YKP) PT. Bank Dagang Negara and PT. Mahkota Prestasi, to get out from the 1997-1999 crisis by doing many ways – from the merger steps to final decision of converting into syariah bank. In July 31, 1999, there was a merger of four banks (Bank Dagang Negara, Bank Bumi Daya, Bank Exim, and Bapindo) into PT. Bank Mandiri ( Persero). The conversion planning of PT. Bank Susila Bakti was taken over by PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero).

Liz will you look over maggies link and see if There are any ties to the US or European banks.
As a world bank would it be easy to transfer funds between any of the others?
How would Islamic law influence the bank?

Could this one bank influence American market?
