And all that still leaves you with the question, who was she, this Ann or Anna? I’ve already made it clear that when Maraniss interviewed the daughter of the Pratt family who shared the house with the Dunhams, she couldn’t remember any Dunham daughter with a baby. He was careful the way he wrote that, granted. He didn’t come right out and say she couldn’t remember the Dunhams had a daughter.
But the suggestion that the Dunham’s daughter was living in that house and she was listed as Ann S Obama in 1961 at the same time as Anna Obama was listed in the Seattle directory really should make you wonder, no matter how slavishly you want to follow the myth of ‘Dreams’.

Why do questions frighten you to that extent? You have no qualms about suggesting that Madelyn was somehow involved in any number of nefarious activities.

Have you ever once posted a link or a source that might shine a light on your theories? (Other than your Vanity Post?)What would it prove if Madelyn is shown to have inherited shares or income from her father? Just how true is that tax return in which zero shows an inheritance? Another scan that’s only visible on the WWW...and he might just turn out to have been their adopted son after all, and not related genetically.

Any attempt to put a final stamp on this saga achieves nothing, it just stifles the debate. It’s QUESTIONS that get you somewhere, not asserting you have all the answers.

If numerous indications point in the direction of there being more than one woman and their id’s were blended to create the myth, you’ll only find them by looking in the cracks, where the mistakes were made, the blending was far from seamless.

Now you need to bring someone forward other than Abercrombie who has gone to ground on the subject, who can confirm without any doubt remaining, that they saw Stanley Ann Dunham and the kenyan student with a baby anywhere, or even just saw HER in Hawaii in 1961 or 1962...

And that leads you straight to why the birth certificate turns out to have severeal layers, and why it’s probably a combination of data that relates to a birth that took place much earlier, and the date and number of the little girl who only lived for one day.

Fred, you’re correct that the biographer carefully phrased it. The page is available online as a preview. The Pratt daughter says things about the memorably weird Dunham couple, but then the author writes about their daughter living there, too, allegedly in a convenient “makeshift” room outside her parents’ bedroom. Convenient, because otherwise people will wonder how so many adults and adolescents were living in a home with a limited number of bedrooms.

The “r” in the Anna Obama address doesn’t always mean “rear” but sometimes “residence”. So you either have “Anna Obama” living in the main house, in a hallway, with her infant son, or you have her living in relative luxury, alone in a house of her own in the rear, while her parents mooch off of the Pratts instead of moving in with her. Did she pay rent while they mooched?

Of course, if Anna Obama wasn’t their daughter, then she’d be expected to live separately with her child, and not live in a hallway outside the room of the guests of her landlord.

The author later IMPLIES that not only the wacky parents were there but also the daughter, yet again he doesn’t quote or paraphrase the Pratt daughter as having said that. He says Ms. Pratt doesn’t remember the Dunhams’ daughter bringing home any baby to that house, but he doesn’t say that she remembers any daughter there at all, with or without a baby.

This is found in his latest biography of Barry. HE says she was living in the hall outside her parents room, and the parents shared the house with the Pratt family. The Pratts were Stanley Armour Dunham’s employers, so we can presume they offered them housing when they moved to Hawaii, until they found their own place.

At least that’s the current narrative. Living in a hallway is a far cry from being separately listed as a head of a household or family, or whatever criterion they used to list individuals in that Polk Directory.

Elsewhere in the directory, how were her parents and the Pratts listed? Has that ever been revealed?

Don’t the directories list by name and then by address, too?
