(FWIW I stay away from even semi-evolutionism when regards the creature that is called human. That does not appear an appropriate treatment for this domain. This has nothing to do with Darwin. It has to do with holiness - wholeness - and evil.)

Darwin tried to stay away from human evolution too, at least at first.

Since we 10 homid species fossils, and DNA studies shows the genetic fingerprints of 16 retrovirus infections that have in common with chimpanzees, and the matching of human chromosomes to ape chromosomes, the marks of human evolution are plain to see.

Then there is the DNA evidence of 20% Neanderthal nuclear DNA in most Europeans, and 3% Denisovian nuclear DNA in persons of Asian heritage, with none of that reflected in mitochondrial DNA. Throw in structural differences between modern human skulls, and archaic human skulls, and you find that we are still evolving.
