That's the premise the author has based his article on.
Trayvon Martin is dead for no other reason than he was born Black in America. That’s a non-debatable fact. Had he been a White kid, Trayvon would have still been alive today.
That statement makes no sense unless the author believes all American blacks are hot headed thugs because that's the reason Trayvon got shot.
The percentage of children born in Black America who behave as Travon seems to have done is much greater than the percentage of children born in White America who do such things. So in that sense the author's statement is correct; its meaning is essentially as you describe. The problem is that liberals use the term "race" to refer to a particular culture whose adherents reject non-dark-skinned people. They argue that it's not right to discriminate against someone on the basis of their skin color, and then use that to imply not only that it's not right to discriminate against people on the basis of their culture, but that it's not even right to discriminate against people on the basis of culturally-mandated behaviors, notwithstanding that it is the leftist-mandated lack of such "discrimination" that has led to the lack of moral discipline within Black American culture.
