This is the shocking moment a police sergeant punched a young woman in the face because he thought she sprayed silly string at him during a peaceful parade.
The video was recorded during yesterday's 50th anniversary Puerto Rican Day parade in Philadelphia - where around 1,500 people were in attendance.
The 36-second clip shows a number of people milling around enjoying the festivities in the 'City of Brotherly Love'.
From the left-hand side, someone can be seen throwing an unidentified liquid towards a group of police officers.
At the same time, a young woman is walking past - who also gets hit by the liquid.
As she turns around to see where it came from, a police officer in a white shirt - which means he has acquired the rank of sergeant - comes towards the woman and delivers a brutal punch to her face, knocking her to the ground.

Still scurrying because you find yourself in an increasingly unpopular position?
Not only are you defending a man punching a woman, but you are defending a cop punching a woman, indeed a cop punching someone other than the individual who actually sprayed the silly string/water which landed on them both.
I suppose when one’s police-gods are shown to be not only mortal, but at times wicked, it is most discouraging to one’s worldview.
Maybe he was totally right in that case..............
Bwahahaha!
Perfect response.
I suppose I can judge what a cesspool this city is by the waste they hire for police officers.
YEP
Yeah, these black cops are really going crazy shooting dogs and such. /sarc
Investigators tell FOX 29s Dave Schratwieser that theyre looking at another video from earlier that may show the same woman spraying silly string on officers.
Which would justify arrest, possibly. It certainly doesn’t justify slugging her in the face.
Actually, I find most black officers a lot easier and just than most of the ‘Roid rage military wannabes whites. I have yet to see a black officer TRYING to be a tough guy. you either are or you’re not. I’m white, but my experience with most white cops is they’re too trigger happy, and too ready to cop an attitude if you question them.
I know that’s only based on what I’ve seen, but to me, that’s true.
So you either support anything a cop does or you support anarchy?
Wheres that in the Constitution?
Using the epithet “pig” pegs you as an occupoop.
Don’t you have a “demonstration” to go to somewhere?
I’m not supporting the cop. I’m supporting the process. You don’t get lynched on a bunch of unsubstantiated facts.
You can't be serious????
Are you sure you don't want to take this post back??
and when we finally get ALL the facts then let’s have this discussion
I am sick and tired of people immediately deciding that the police are at fault. We have alread lived through those days and it didn’t go well. ARe there some police officers who shouldn’t be cops??? You bet. Are their some citizens who would do anything to bring down this nation? Again you bet. Let’s get the facts and then we can decided
The police and the government only know the law.
A few generations back they forgot anything they ever knew about grace.
Im not supporting the cop, either. Im supporting the due process that he denied to the woman. You dont get punched by a cop on a bunch of unsubstantiated facts.
Fired immediately! Never any gov job again state, local or FedMob.
Sucker punching people is now accepted police arrest procedure? If so then shooting cops from blinds is now acceptable. Stop this now before we have concentration camps.
“Im not supporting the cop. Im supporting the process. You dont get lynched on a bunch of unsubstantiated facts.”
Truthfully the only facts we know is that there was a parade and the cop punched the woman. Oh and that she wasn’t a threat to him at the time he hit her.
Everything else is difficult to determine based on the quality of the video.
And that is all we need to police brutality.
too bad he didn’t wait for some facts before passing out punishment.
