A producer at NBC recently decided to make a video called "Bodies in Motion", showing off Olympic athlete's bodies in various states of competition. Unfortunatley, the music production department chimed in, adding uber-creepy porn-like music to the clip.
Critics slammed the network for what seemed like the blatant sexualization of athletes competing for Olympic gold.
NBC promptly pulled the video, but left us wondering - What were they thinking?

It’s been there throughout the entire Olympics. And what’s worse, there is no way to get rid of it...not permanently, anyway.

I wasn’t even watching the Olympics when I saw it. It was on Fox Business Channel.
I think most of the criticism comes from people who are jealous.
The video cannot be considered porn because Serena Williams in on it.
I must be missing out, probably because I skipped the whole porn phase. The music did not make me think of porn, just elevator music. As for the video, there was certainly a bias toward beautiful athletes, but it seemed to be about their grace, fitness, and athleticism, not wardrobe malfunctions. I don't see a problem here.
I watched the video with sound off — maybe it’s me but I didn’t see much to suggest the protest is valid. Other than the rather queer butt pat of the beach volley duo Just didn’t see nothin to protest. Maybe the protester preferred watching everyone in Islamic gunnysacks?Just think protest overrated—maybe they were just having a bad day?
I see nothing wrong with the video or the subjects of the video.Those were some beautiful woman.

I have been recording every days events all day long since the Olympics started, and with my remote I have skipped every interview and event I was not interested in, just this morning I was reviewing last nights show and I had to skip a very long segment all about London during WW2, I’m sure it was necessary to show it but guess what NBC, the times are a changing and we have the power at our fingertips to have “choice”.
One can go to any lake on the 4th of July and see sexier females!!
I change channels whenever Bob Costas is on - what a condescending, no-talent creepy snot he is. He makes my skin crawl. Any of those puff pieces they have are totally cheesy - I just want to see the events. I quit screaming “NBC sucks!” after the 4th day, but my opinion about their coverage remains the same.
I am disappointed that I have not seen the more obscure events like the shooting competition, it would have been nice to have tapped the BBC instead of being a prisoner to NBC and its ideology.
Roger that. My reaction was as much to the outrage of the poster as is was to the content of the video.
I had no idea that was porn music any more than Mitt Romney knows what the inside of a whorehouse smells like.
