Well, I’m surprised. You actually answered the questions. That wasn’t so hard, was it?
a. Intolerant? of course! Bigoted, NO. Christ-like, YES because Jesus had knowledge and truth on his side; you only have belief. That belief is either true or untrue.
***Ah Hah. Here’s where you are flat wrong. I also have knowledge and truth on ‘my’ side, although I wouldn’t call it my side. The knowledge thing is easy: Mormonism rests its case on verifiable history. For instance, did you know that there is absolutely NO archaeological evidence that backs up the mormon version of events? Also, you can see it right here on this forum — avoidance of the simple and verifiable historical truth that Jesus was put to death for claiming equality with God. Even His enemies acknowledge that claim, and say that he was put to death for blasphemy. I worship the man, and I acknowledge that if He is not God, then he is not good and deserved to be put to death on that day for blasphemy.
Will you claim that you possess Christ’s knowledge when you wage your judgments on others?
***Yes. And it isn’t even special extra-super-duper-spiritual mystical knowledge. It is the simple knowledge of verifiable history. Do you think Julius Caesar was a Roman General? Why? It’s the same level of historicity applied to Jesus that I rely upon.
Give it a try? It will be the support you need to validate your postings here. I will graciously capitulate to your honors if you do make that claim.
***I make the claim.
It’s ironic how Mormons are criticized for creating false gods by people who act like they officially speak for their own gods. Isn’t it?
***Ummm, no. First of all I defend my ONE God. Secondly, this is nothing ‘official’, it is the duty of every believer in Christ. Thirdly, Jesus Himself is the One Who ‘acted officially’ when He told false teachers of His day that they were vipers and Sons of the Devil. Fourthly, mormonism is a cult. I could go on.
I do wonder what happened to true Christianity. I guess it left with the Latin Mass. Mea Maxima Culpa!
***First century christian services were held in Greek and Aramaic. What is this hangup on Latin? If you want to wonder what happened to ‘true Christianity’, then examine Christ’s actions when He confronted false teachers in His day.
Wow. You really have it in for those Mormons! Every time I write a challenge, you return to your obsession. Yet, you have never proven your religion to be true. Yes, you have thrown out some circumstantial evidence and have played with the wording (while I have been accused of using philosophy). You have shown me that your beliefs are so strong that you do not have the ability to discern fact from belief.
I believe in God, but cannot prove my beliefs are true. I believe that God will NEVER present himself to man because he is to remain a test of man’s faith and true character; again, I cannot prove that. It is my faith. I also believe that many have succumbed to the evils of false scripture and the false interpretation of scripture. I put you in the latter, but cannot prove it right or wrong any more than you can.
That’s how logic works. Evil works another way.
