For them to have truly hurt me, I would have to have some degree of sentiment invested in them and I assure you, there is none.
I told the story of my father to simply explain how I came to believe the things I do. I was taught.
I wont share too many details about my past here, mainly because of the group of folks who seem obsessed with picking apart everything or everyone they disagree with. My mother escaped with me and my siblings to the United States where we lived with family and for years, did not know my fathers fate.
Raised to believe the United States was where we would be safe, I believe it to this day.
Dont take their attacks on me or Jews too personally. They are limited by their lack of education, narrow-mindedness and hatred, whether they realize it or not.
Thank you again.
I get my hackles up over injustice and cruelty. That's why I defended you. It's good to know you are tough enough to take care of that yourself. I imagine that's why your father survived.
The number of good people here far exceeds the number of mean ones. I'm essentially a sensitive individual and perhaps too idealistic for this world. I'll finish this post with a couple of my favorite quotes:
"Write injuries in sand, kindnesses in marble." [French Proverb]"Great leaders are those who inspire greatness in others." [Anonymous, possibly Confucius paraphrased]
"In spite of everything, I still believe that people are good at heart." [Anne Frank]
"Let it roll off your back like water off a duck." [My Father]
You’re a good egg, arasina. :)
To ansel12 "You owe an apology to anyone who read your snotty little bigoted posts. I cannot believe they have been allowed to stand. Your posts are unconscionable. You disgust me and so does Free Republic."
Yes, of course, you are too good, too pure and humble for the world, sweetness walks among us, we are graced with your gentle presence and gracious speech.
