How far some have fallen. From Freeper of the Year to being ridiculed by the new leadership cabal.

Just what "year" was that? Was there a competition? Who voted? I've been here since '01 and I didn't get a vote. Was he elected by the mormon "cabal"?

Does the "Freeper of the Year" title come with a guarantee that everything issued from the keyboard of the FOTY is blessed by God? Is there a FR rule that no one is allowed to rebut the "Pearls of Wisdom" (or "Great Price") from the FOTY when they are not pearls, and certainly not wise?

I think the reason that no one has ever called me a name, or ever said anything unpleasant to me here, is because I won “Freeper of the Year” in my first season at FR, and ever since then, I have only felt the glow of warmth and love towards me, in every post.

It’s too bad about you common folk, that have people disagree with your points of view, and have to sometimes endure unpleasant remarks, and suggestions.

Freeper of the year? Isn’t it funny, that we shouldn’t disagree with JeffH, but it is almost a badge of courage for some to come on this thread and badmouth JR to his FACE?

- It was roughly 2002-2003 in that range.
- Everyone on FR got to vote - don't remember how many did. The used to have polls back then too which you probably remember. Those were fun - be nice if they brought them back.
- If I remember correctly Jeff received the award for showing up in the Klamath Falls area and helping with the water issue going on at the time. Quite a group of Freepers showed up - if could remember the names I'd ping them to give their recollections. I'm happy if I can just get all my kids names right.
- I'm sure there are lots of threads about it from back then, but I'm not good enough at search to find them in a reasonable amount of time.
- Pinging this to you Jeff because I mentioned you. Btw, some of your other posts are inspiring me to start do some model building.

I've heard the phrase, "Freeper of the Year" before but have never been aware when any voting took place for the title nor was I aware that J.R. had ever designated anybody as such.

I'm not here 24/7/365.25 and could possibly have missed it but miss it 9 times? I seriously doubt it.

On the other hand, I'm the "World's Greatest Grandpa" and I have a coffee cup to prove it!
