I’m praying all grassroots conservatives turnout like never before to vote straight conservative up and down the ticket. The only way we’ll ever turn this country around is to have moral majorities elected into as many offices as is humanly possible all across this great land. The Dems and the GOPe are both pushing for federal control over every aspect of our lives. We must fully restore the 10th amendment and return the real power to the states and the people. We have to do it locally and state by state. DC is too far gone. It’s all about concentrating power and control for those in the federal government. Those who can put aside their conservative principles momentarily to vote for the lesser evil should go ahead and do so. It would be a tremendous boost to the grassroots to derail Obama, but doubt the father of RomneyCARE will be much better. Personally, I cannot for for a man with his dismal abortionist/homosexualist/statist record.
I can see November from MY house!!
Being from NYC I have no conservatives to vote for. I used to write in the name of Priests but then my wife asked me how do I know they aren’t democrats. Now I am writing in my own name.
With all due respect, I’m not asking you to vote for Romney. You and many others have stated you will never vote for the man. Fine. Do I think you and others are foolish? Absolutely. We had a primary election. The grassroots conservatives you pray for were all too busy fighting each other about the other’s candidate not being conservative enough. Meanwhile, Romney wins the primary election. As a conservative, you well know that this election is between two candidates. Mitt Romney the republican and Barack Hussein Obama the democrat. Oh, the third party candidates will squawk and squeak and make a little bit of noise in some states, they will take some votes, but this election is between those two.
I’m asking you what people like me should do? Abandon FreeRepublic because we support the republican candidate for President?
I still remember posters here telling me that Rick Santorum had to be shunned for endorsing Specter. Remember that?
Sarah Palin has endorsed Mitt Romney. Is she going to eventually suffer the same fate?
I fully support Mitt Romney and I am as excited about Paul Ryan as the VP as I was about Sarah Palin.
Jim, I share your "doubts" about Romney. His past record of liberalism followed by his so-called late conversion to conservatism makes him an uncertain, unreliable and unlikely conservative.
But I also know that when it comes to conservatism, the Marxist is an absolute Zero. There is Zero chance he will do anything conservative.
Come election day, if there is no likely alternative, I will go with the one who might be (although unlikely) a conservative president over the one who will always be a Marxist president.
And I would do so not "putting aside" my conservative priciples, but instead trying to meet my conservative principles, for my family, for my country and for future generations yet to be born.
Those who can put aside their conservative principles momentarily to vote for the lesser evil should go ahead and do so.
***That does not sound healthy. I believe it’s the first time I’ve heard you say it.
