Well, you’re in good company. I doubt there are 10% of the FReepers in agreement with me on this.
But I’ve been saying for six or seven years that I’d never vote for or support this man:

And it doesn’t mean a hill of beans to me who he picks as running mate. Fell for that one last time. Won’t make that mistake again.
If the GOP was serious about winning this election and repealing ObamaCare, they would not have pushed the man who made it possible. The GOP is just as serious about repeal as it is about overturning Roe v Wade. Remember, Romney is the one who believes Roe v Wade should be sustained and supported as settled law. And, of course, he still supports gay rights. And still brags about his biggest success story: RomneyCare.
I support you Jim and I just put my money where my mouth is. Thanks for this site.
I would say about three times that amount. Those that don't are often unsure as to what you see as not welcome on the site. Many understood it as a plain "don't make threads on the promotion of Romney as though he was a conservative" and there would be toleration for political prudence that each see in the electoral balance of their home state.
The real problem begins with those that don't just take you at your word -- but instead that try to enforce it in all discourse on this site. Many that they post to are too opinionated to shrug off their diatribes.
I remember well in the 90s how there came a point when Don Morgan felt he was the enforcer on the site and finally in exasperation you posted to him something to the effect of "I never asked you to do any of this." He was so astounded he went off the deep end.
There are still a lot of Dons out there.
It is often tough for people to take a post such as this one in proper context. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I think it was simply a vanity pointing out, in the middle of the enthusiasm, that the Repubs had still given us a pandering Rino of the worst kind for our candidate and that there had been no sea change in your view.
There are others that take it that you are laying down a line in the sand as to the overall posting tenure of what you expect to see everyone on the site adhere to -- and then they go out and become little functionary enforcers (a strange tendency on a site steeped in personal liberty and morals.)
Your typical kind comment is given little importance or notice. Your every negative response is given a rah-rah way our of proportion to what your honest humility would normally expect. You are the celebrity here as well as the Owner and you get all the pandering and sycophants that any celebrity has in any media, sad to say.
I was deeply saddened to hear of the internal dispute with some volunteers. We all know over the years how deep is your affection and how painful this can be. Most of us really appreciate you, Jim, even if we sometimes look at things from a different angle.
I doubt there are 10% of the FReepers in agreement with me on this.
***I think that estimate is far too low. I think it’s 30-40% or more. There are probably 15% who don’t understand what the problem is. There are maybe 25% who are simply republicans who like to think they’re conservative. Those are the loudest detractors. They think this is a republican website. Really, they do.
