Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Before anyone jumps to incorrect conclusions, our Religion Moderator has complete responsibility for the Religion Forum. The other moderators act only in emergency situations when the RM is not in. And we just happen to be blessed with the very best Religion Moderator in God’s creation.
I found the comment by antibubba that "The reason for moving the anti-Mormon threads to news is so the posters of such threads can get the flame they deserve. In the Religion Forum the threads are sterilized of the flame posts", Very, very revealing.
That appears that bubba is in favor of "anti-Christianity. It also confirms the bias that we have seen all along in some of the moderating.
Jim, you ended the mormon caucus threads because they were being abused by posting doctrine that couldn't be rebutted, and now, thank you for the continued support for the opportunity for honest debate without underhanded Romney-like methods that favor a specific sect.
Whoa!
So instead of keeping the discussions on point, about the topics, relatively civil and polite in the RF, you are stating the movement of such threads into "open" forums was to "punish" those Christians who speak out against the doctrines and theology of Mormonism [which claims all of Christianity is apostate]?
Sick.
It is not a discussion. It is gratuitous shot after shot. They are not the traditional and proper opponents of FR.
That's because it's just plain tacky to do so!
Oh, I totally agree with you. Our RM is wonderful. Do you know how many times I have been slapped down for “making it personal?”
I’m stubborn, but I’m learning my lesson! Thanks Jim and RM.
I recognize it, but the original poster who made the suggestion wouldn’t.
Bottom line, my policy is to keep the discussion threads regarding Mormonism in the RF with other religious topics.
I recognize it, but the original poster who made the suggestion wouldnt.
correction:
I recognize it, but the original poster to whom the suggestion was made wouldnt recognize it.
Bear in mind that when you as owner say, This website considers the Mormon religion as false doctrine. Period. and deny Mormons as a whole the Religion Forum privilege of “ecumenical” and “caucus” protections you will be counted among the bigots. That is how it will go over in the larger world beyond this forum.
Mr. Resettozero just called in to our office here in Guatemala City to check for messages and told me to tell the free purrs that national weather offices were buying millions of boxes of full heavy jackets. I suppose he thinks Estados Unidos must be going to have an especially cold winter and that free purrs should be ready for the bad weather. He called on his mobile phone and there was a big fight going on here at the time and I couldn’t hear everything else he said I’m sorry. Flourine
The numerous times I was engaged by Mormons and their “friends” on the RF typically included “gratuitous shot after shot”. Being accused of being a bigot, compared to nazi’s, a hater and deceiving my wife, etc.
Why? Because after leaving “the church”, I “dared” to challenge Mormonism and discuss it here on FR.
I guess I “deserved” it, huh?
The reason for moving the anti-Mormon threads to news is so the posters of such threads can get the flame they deserve.
***That didn’t seem to work out so well, did it? If anything this thread has served as a filter for CINOs. They’re ‘so upset’ that this discussion was taking place and how it made FR look. And, it was JimRob who posted this thread, so do you mean to say that JimRob deserves flames?
Well, my friend, Joe Smith was an original bigot against Christianity. That’s the entire purpose of his creative works.
Anti-Bubba, I joined FR to discuss politics. I certainly didn’t come to discuss religion, but when I joined FR I was also a baby Christian, one who had found Christ after a lifetime as a Mormon. I was soooo excited.
Imagine my dismay when I found out that FR was being used as a proselyting tool for Mormonism.
My very first post about Mormonism was on the New/activism page on a thread a Mormon posted about the wonderful growth of their religion - most of which was just an outright lie.
I simply said, “they count me (as a member), I don’t count them.”
I don’t know if you were around at the time, but some of the Mormon posters here said really negative things about my character like: “You just want to sin,” “Couldn’t cut the mustard?” “You are a liar to call yourself a Mormon”....etc. etc.
I decided right then and there to post what I know about the Mormon religion, and how it differs from Christianity. It isn’t that I hate individual Mormons. I’ve mentioned it a few thousand times on FR that my husband, my mother, my brother, my in-laws, my neighbors, my friends are Mormon.
If Mormons are allowed to post about their Mormonism, why should I not be allowed to post about my Christianity and how I came to be a Christian and how it differs from Mormonism. Do you think I should just STHU and let Mormons tell a one-sided story or outright lie to Freepers in the hopes that they will get converts from the good conservative Christians here.
Well, God doesn’t. He demands that I speak. JimRob allows it. He is a good Christian man. I too asked for a voice here. I asked that my speech not be silenced, and as long as I obey RM or JimRobs rules, I am allowed to do so. It is a tactic of the left to call opposing opinions “hate.” You should ask yourself why the Mormons do it.
Wow. You just got here! I doubt you know Jeff very well, unless you’re a retread.
That appears that bubba is in favor of “anti-Christianity. It also confirms the bias that we have seen all along in some of the moderating.
***I agree, as you have said... Very, very revealing.
Luke 12:3 Accordingly, whatever you have said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.
Welll...let's see...that may affect the mormons, less than 2% of the US population....actually, the Christian world will not really give a rap, since a hefty percentage doesn't view mormonism with the same rose-colored glasses you do....and it certainly won't affect the votes of the democrats, nor very many independents. As for the rest of the world, the mormon church is working hard to kiss the butts in Islam, so that may be a factor.
So, I think your threat that "you will be counted among the bigots. That is how it will go over in the larger world beyond this forum." is WAY overdone.
BTW, your continued comment that mormons are "denied" ecumenical threads is bogus. They can post them, or comment on them...they just don't like to be on threads where opposing views are allowed.
Lets get a bunch of Sicentologist proselytizing on FR and see what happens...
You have said you don't wish to limit the forum to Judeo-Orthodox Christian members. That said, if you allow Mormons they should have equal rights.
