Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.
Once more, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
That makes nonsense, in light of my post. And even if true, why tell me that? Not sure how you meant to affect me with your post.
While Mr. Robinson stated his beliefs and left it at that,
Mr. Robinson has stated his position and I respect it. Others on this thread- have gone to great lengths to not simply state their feelings, but to bash and demoralize an entire people due to their religious beliefs
***You got that completely wrong, cupcake. JimRob has engaged mormons on this thread, in at least one case rather severely. Your attempt to separate JimRob from the “others” on this website is an obvious attempt at bootlicking so that you can denigrate us conservatives while staying on this site.
Stop putting words in my mouth that I didn’t say.
***I didn’t put ANY words in your mouth, I quoted you DIRECTLY.
Why are you here, on this thread, right now? You’ve demonstrated a willingness to sow discord among conservatives. You should be out somewhere else converting 0bots to mittbots. Obama thanks you for your efforts in sowing discord among conservatives.
I know you're not looking for any but I'll still you a big one here, Amen!!
In spite of the differences between Roman Catholic and evangelical Christian theology, it still is very possible for a person going to a Roman Catholic church to be a believer in an evangelical sense. That church at least does not redefine God or Jesus in such a way as to make the concept of trusting Jesus unto personal salvation into mere nonsense. Try that with Mormon definitions of those entities — it is hopeless.
I see exactly the same in you.
The difference is, I’m a christian conservative posting on a conservative website, defending the christian faith against heresy. What are you? Christian namby pamby? Anti-christian? Reed in the wind? Standing up for a cult that opposes christianity? Pushing a librul on a conservative website? Do you even realize that this is not a republican website, it is a conservative website?
WHAT!? Have you and your husband been tag-teaming on this thread? You sound almost ladylike when you posted this to Jim.
FWIW, among actual Roman Catholic thinkers, it is considered right to vote in such a way as to best restrain evil. It would require more than “this guy stinks” to disqualify a vote for him as a reasonable means to that goal.
And there friends, is a testimony of why this man will not vote for Mitt Romney without having to malign a faith.
It doesnt matter how he feels about Mormons- there is plenty of reason not to support the Republican ticket without religious judgment.
***You are an incredible bootlicker. This is the same man who wrote the paragraph below, which caused all this brouhaha. But somehow, those of us who agree with him are maligning someone’s faith while JimRob isn’t. The essence of bootlicking.
At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon “bigot” on FR. Yes, there is plenty of reason to vote against Romney without religious judgement. Romney is a liberal.
But, beyond all that, there is also something rotten at the root of Mormonism. It was founded by perverts, men who felt the need to dream up an entire "religion" in order to justify their apparently insatiable appetite for women (including women already married) and little girls. Within the context of the Christian religion as it existed in nineteenth century America, men such as Joseph Smith and Bringem Young could never have gotten away with sexually abusing and "marrying" dozens of women and girls, as each of them did. The entire Mormon religion was crafted in order to provide a religious justification and a legal cover for the perversions of these men and others like them.
I hope that everyone takes the time to watch this short, informative video:
Joseph Smith as a Sexual Predator
For extra credit, you might Google "Joseph Smith" and "plural marriage."
The conclusion is inescapable - this entire "religion" was designed by perverts for the sole purpose of justifying their perversions.
These are the kinds of posts that make you look like a drama queen, you aren’t aware that freerepublic has a very large number of Jews? Do you know anything about this place?

Dang!!! 2913 was the over/under on # of posts on this thread. I took the under.
I could never tell you’re a Christian, except you say you are.
Why would I care if this is a Republican website? I’m not a Republican, but I’m a conservative. And that’s another thing I can’t tell you are, except that you say you are.
No practicing Jew believes JC was the Mashiach either, no matter how many invisible ones you talk to.
***I’ve seen you posting on that other thread, where the JewsForJesus guys are active and there’s at least one Messianic Jew posting. You’re just in denial, because of the facts on the ground. And those facts are that Jesus was put to death for claiming equality with God. Even his enemies acknowledged the claim.
You’re the one who opused out on this thread, refusing to examine the facts, the same facts that drive this schism between christian cults and ‘mere’ christianity. So go and read that CS Lewis book and come up to speed. Your very soul may be at stake.
If you are a conservative, then act conservative. Quit sowing discord among conservatives on this conservative website. Go and convert some 0bots to mittbots.
I could never tell you’re a conservative nor christian. You uphold neither set of values.
