Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

"Yes, we believe Christ Himself told Joseph Smith..."

Jeff, this is one of the more prevalent LdS teachings that ran Mormonism off the rails for me, not counting the "man can ascend to godhood" claim.

The Bible, as viewed by Mormons can and sometimes is deemed "in error" when its writings/teachings conflict with Mormonism.

1 John:

4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

4:2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

4:4 Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

4:5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them.

4:6 We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

First off, the warning about testing the spirits and the fact those false prophets would be known by their worldliness. Well, JS was quite worldly, but I won't go into detail, there's enough information out there to cover those aspects of his life. Suffice to say, there are many things JS did while he was the "prophet" that were the behaviors of a person acting in direct contradiction to that of a Godly man. There were a lot of "convenient" "revelations" that "permitted" him a great deal of latitude.

Secondly, and most importantly, the "personages" description and the failure of the spirits to clearly identify and confess Jesus during the purported 1st vision. .

The narrative (1st vision, [pick a version]) is ambiguous, it does not clearly state that God and Jesus, came down, nor does he claim to have heard the name of Jesus, just "this is my beloved son..." (That IS NOT "confessing" Jesus). It's implied through the use of descriptive language.

But, according to JS's account, at no time does the personage (spirit) state absolutely that it was Jesus who was going to "speak" to JS. According to JS's own words, the "personages" do not state Jesus' name. This places his entire claim in question based on the scriptures above. He didn't "test" the spirits [personages]

Acts 1: 9-11

9 And when he [Jesus] had spoken these things, while they beheld, he [Jesus] was taken up; and a cloud received him [Jesus]out of their sight.

10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

So, is the Bible in error when it states that Jesus would not come back to meet secretly in the woods with a teenager? That He would return the same way He left, in full public view?

Also, with regards to the "complete apostasy" as taught and believed by many Mormons; these links do a far better job of exlaining it than I ever will[Mormonism 201: Chapter 6 - Apostasy ]

[Great Apostasy]< /a>

I'm sure we'll just have to agree to disagree, but felt compelled to reply to a couple of your comments.

FRegards,

SZ

Did you ever fully admit that JR did not support Mitt Romney in 2008, as you claimed in post 1467, and that he never even came close to such an abomination as you claimed?

Mojito-

There is no reasoning with these people, therefore there is no reason to continue to converse with them.

For whatever reason, they believe they have ALL the correct answers and they distort the Word of G*d by picking and choosing the things they want, while ignoring the things that would be an inconvenience to them.

If you disagree- they deem you “not a Christian” as if it is up to their self-appointed jury of righteousness to judge what only G*d can judge.

If you disagree with their “logic” or choice of candidates- they deem you “not conservative” if they find anything that might resemble a flaw in THEIR eyes.

I have known people like this all of my life. They sit in church pews on Sunday morning wrapped in smugness and have no CLUE what awaits them when they face their G*d. They will surely be judged as harshly and severely as they judge.

They are far more interested in “PROVING” they are right, than they are in quietly and confidently presenting their interpretation of Gospel out of love and open-heartedness. They claim they “love” the sinner (at least sinner in their eyes) and hate the sin- yet they fail to see that in their misguided yet passionate diatribes- all that comes across is the “hate”.

They fail to see that the interpretation of the receiver who hears their message is more important than how it is delivered and when so many reasonable people point out the flaws in their delivery, the simply resort back to “he/she isn’t Christian”.

They convince themselves they are on a higher “plain” than the rest of us (spiritually and intellectually) and they have no clue how thankful we are that we are not them.

Some don’t show their overt bigotry- but their silence when they don’t speak out against it is the very loudest voice of all.

They cut and paste, pick and choose, scream and shout, or whisper in smugness a distorted and un-holy view of their Bible and justify it all while hiding behind the cross of their Christ.

Finally- when left with no argument or reasoning- after all the facades have been torn away- they resort to saying “that or that person is evil” as if G*d depends on them to label for Him- what is right and what is wrong.

They are vile, despicable, mean-spirited, lying, zealots and will smile with that self-righteous grin and say “I’ll pray for you”- never knowing that we do not want, need or desire the prayers of the empty and shallow. The heathens.

The Talmud teaches us that one in whom people take pleasure, G*d also takes pleasure; one in who people do not take pleasure, G*d does not take pleasure.

While these few support each other, they are but a few. The rest of us find pleasure in tolerance, open-mindedness, acceptance, peace and justice.

Celebrate the pleasure you bring to others and leave these fools to themselves.

I pray, as another tender mercy from He that is Mighty to Save, that the good Lord will allow me to live long enough to see our Republic back in good, capable, all-American hands of leadership if it be His will, and see our nation turn around from the fatal path it is currently on.

And I pray that the good Lord will allow you to live long enough to see the errors of the faith you have embraced.

Clutch those pearls any harder, and you'll wind up garrotting yourself, Miss Desmond.

On second thought: carry on.

Kent. I am much older than you. Almost as old as your “Miss Desmond”.

English was not my first language and when writing, I translate in my mind from Hebrew to English. Therefore, it comes across to you as perhaps “dramatic” or “flourishing”.

My children and grandchildren have always chided me for it, out of love as I’m sure was the intent of your Christ-centered heart.

My wife has always found it “cute”.

I would apologize for the way it comes across, but as I find you an obtuse, idiot, I shall keep any thoughts of apologizing to you in check.

Based on that anti-Christian screed, one would guess some Christians really let you down at some point in your life. Must be quite the burden to view Christians in that light, never taking pleasure in their company, yet, here you are.

Sheesh...talk about cognitive dissonance, doing exactly that which you accuse others of.

Sniping at FReepers.

Don’t spare the ammo next time Molly, let all of us “vile, despicable, mean-spirited, lying, zealots”, oh and “self-righteous” Christians really have a full broadside.

But if you’re gonna hang around FR, at least have the decency, if you have any, to name names and identify, then refute the “lying”. Mmmm k?

Jonah 1

1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.

3 But Jonah rose up to flee unto Tarshish from the presence of the LORD, and went down to Joppa...

***

Jonah 2

1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.

3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.

4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

5 So the people of Nineveh believed God

***

10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Jonah 4

1 But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.

***

9 And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.

10 Then said the LORD, Thou hast had pity on the gourd, for the which thou hast not laboured, neither madest it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:

11 And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more then sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

happy now?

1. Are ya telling us your world revolves 'round the opinions of the daily Kuss? Really?

2. Yeah, we know...Mormonism is backed by "freedom of religion" whereas our religious expressions apparently are NOT per the Daily Kuss, which you indicate agreement with...

3. LDS literally send out 55,000 missionaries who tell the world up to 70 hrs per week that Christianity was in full apostasy even during era of usa's founding fathers...but if a few online posters respond in any way that speaks negatively of Mormonism, the sky is falling, eh?...Do you realize how much $ LDS, Inc spends to slander worldwide Christianity? And that doesn't bother you, oh "tolerant" one? LDS Inc owns Deseret books and newspaper, web sites, a tv station, curricula, slanderous "scriptures" specific even to condemning specific denominations...like PRESBYTERIANS...etc ... and you're essentially admitting here that you and many other don't monitor --or care -- what LDS Inc has to say about Christians and Christianity...
