Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

obama is a dictator. His use of executive orders when he doesn’t get his way will only become more extreme since the Constitution has been discarded. America is finished if he is not removed.

You seriously think that Romney will do the same? I am truly sorry that is so confusing to you.

Give me a break. Mitt’s a panderer. Mitt lies and cannot be trusted

Well he had to wrestle so many pigs in Mass. he got a little muddy. Can’t be helped; but as president he’ll show his true conservative colors...closed borders ..the death of obamacare and the death of intrusive gov’t. He’ll save us from going down the destructive path of grecian socialism...’let not your heart be troubled’

‘by agreeing to be Romney’s VP, Ryan just showed his true RINO colors. No true conservative would have agreed to be Romney’s VP,’

Sure, Ryan is now a RINO because he agreed to be Romney's VP candidate. He agreed to be the VP for a guy that won the primary, endorsed Ryan's budget and has tacked right to get the nomination. WOW! I guess anyone short of Attila the Hun would be a Leftist in some peoples eyes.

Ryan is a solid Conservative. What he understands, and you and many here do not. You can not effect change and Conservative governance yelling from the sidelines and the stands, YOU HAVE TO BE IN THE GAME!

Ryan put all Conservatives in the game.

“So criticizing Palin makes him a RINO?”

According to some (not me) it does.

What does a VP do, anyway, except, like, uhm, nothing?!

“My Vote: Romney/Ryan 1, Obama 0

Your Vote: Either

Obama 1, Romney/Ryan 0 or

Numbnuts 1, Obama 0, Romney/Ryan 0

So, who’s helping Obama? Do the math.”

If I vote neither, both values still equal zero.

Here’s a chemical equation for you:

ABO (aq) + Romney (aq) —> Obama (4 More Years)

Ryan may turnout to be a better pick....than Reagan’s pick of the first George Bush..We need to fix the economy and debt first...then work on the social issues...it took fifty years to get here..it may take fifty years to fix it..

This is exactly what so many Freepers don’t seem to understand. It’s not about purity. No candidate is going to be perfect, but with Romney’s record many of us cannot vote for him, knowing we’ll have to stand before God.

Excellent post. This is exactly the point. We're accountable to God for our votes as well as our actions. For some of us, Romney is simply a bridge too far.

Not AWOL. Voting straight conservative here. Praying for the tea party rebellion to continue in 2012 and beyond. The usurping abortionists/homosexualists and statists must be removed from government. Preferably by voting them out, but impeachment works too. Praying we increase our moral majority at every level of government all across this great land so we can oust these corrupt usurping bastards.

Mitt is a lying scumbag liberal. Don’t blame me. We can go over the cliff with all flags flying but we’re still going over the cliff.

I'm not blaming you, just trying to understand how you and other ABR FReepers see this all playing out.

HOORAY Jim Robinson! You are one of the greatest Americans I have ever read about. The fact that you are still around and I might shake your hand one day gives me tremendous joy. Thank you, sir.

I have every intent of voting for my conservative congressman and I will happily vote for Pete Hoekstra against Debbie Stabenow.

Hoekstra is flawed and he’s got RINO tendencies but he isn’t the bridge to far that Romney is. Voting for Hoekstra is like voting for Bush. Voting for Romney is like voting for Bill Clinton.

The biggest thing the Ryan pick does, is to bring out the tea party vote. Don’t think they be particularly enthused about Mr. RomneyCare, but hopefully they will turnout and vote straight conservative downticket.

I’m voting to save our beloved country with you..

This time around I didn't actually HAVE any candidate I gave a hoot about - I just knew I'd vote for whoever the GOP nominated. I believe defeating Obama is THE most single important thing this country MUST do to survive. Period.

How pure do you want your Congressional republicans to be? Some of those dossiers aren’t all that wonderful either. But they are needed to impeach... just as Romney would be needed to oust on Nov. 6.

Leadership takes courage and you set a fine example. If the grass roots of America would only wise-up and wake-up to take a stand as you have done, we would no longer have to suffer Romney's and McCain's claiming to represent us. Many a weak-spirited compromiser who, having sacrificed their own principles and accepted that which our Creator has warned us against, will be angry with you for having the strength and conviction not to sacrifice yours. Their spears and arrows will be the sharpest as some of them are FRiends. I try to remember that regardless of who wins this election, the likelihood the nation will boil over increases, and these same people will have opportunity once more to decide to which team they belong. Perhaps next time they'll have the courage to choose what is right instead of what is easy. Nobody said maintaining the republic would be easy; in fact we've been warned just the opposite. But we'll give it a shot.

We need to load up Congress with conservatives who will push legislation onto the President’s desk.

Romney is much more likely to sign it than 0bama.

We also need to work to get local and state representation as well.
