Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

Kevmo, I repeat myself, you vote YOUR conscience. I won’t be voting for a THIRD PARTY who has no chance (as in ZERO) of getting elected. I refuse to participate, by an ‘act of omission,’ in putting a Marxist back into the White House simply because I dislike Romney.

Newsflash: It will either be Romney or Obama who’ll be elected in November.

Your voting for Mickey Mouse will be just as effective for the country to believe you’re ‘making a difference’ when the end result of that kind of vote will still not keep Obama out of the White House in January.

You got it half right. Jews believe he was a false messiah because he didn’t meet the requirements. We take the “no man shall come before me” stuff pretty seriously. When a Jew says he is the son of G-d, we kinda get puzzled because we believe we ALL are G-d’s children.
***He didn’t just claim to be the son of God, he claimed equality with God. He was God Himself. Even his enemies acknowledge the claim, and they put him to death for it. If he was NOT God Himself then he deserved his death sentence according to his crime of blasphemy. Ethelbert Stauffer points out that there were others in history who claimed to be Messiah and were not put to death.

And all of our stuff was sort of “canonized” before then, so he is not mentioned in our holy books. (Sounds like a familiar argument some use here against Mormonism.)
***And in your Canon there is Genesis 49:12, which states that the Messiah would come before Judah lost its own sovereignty (which happened when the Romans took over Jerusalem). If you want to watch a jew backtrack real fast on his own scriptures, see what he does with that one.

We don’t believe in hell or any of that either.
***News to me. I’ve met several jews who acknowledge hell. I see you’re starting to sidetrack into issues that the original poster did not even question.

Life is the most precious gift; enjoy it now instead of worrying about the hereafter.
***Now you’re contorting Judaism into what you want it to be. Your own scriptures do not support your viewpoint. But that’s a problem between you and God.

G-d doesn’t punish His children for all of eternity.
***You’re right, He punishes those who choose not to be His children. But even then, it’s probably not God doing such choosing, it is probably going to be those people loudly proclaiming that they want nothing to do with God for eternity.

No souls to save or any of that in the Reform/Conservative movements — we think of Christians as lost sheep that will return to the flock anyway.
***Whatever, it appears that most of your post immediately sidetracked into issues that the original poster didn’t even ask about.

And of course, from your lofty perch of maturity, it is your job here to post personal attacks about your opinion of the relative childishness of of a longtime, respected FReeper like Kent?

It is my opinion that his post to you was quite appropriate, as was his post to me that you felt you had to butt in and answer, dragging me into your berating of a friend of mine.

That was not the very best thing to do.

Just a wild guess, but I am willing to bet that you’re going to be leaving here, very soon.

It's pretty clear, Obama will continue the slaughter of babies. The other one, who was an abortionist and who now claims to be pro life may or may not kill babies. If the choice is binary between the two, I vote for the former latter.

***Your ‘binary choice’ is between a lying, baby-killing statist with a D by his name and a lying, baby-killing statist with an R by his name.

As I pointed out to you, one was a supporter of baby killing and claims that he will remain a supporter of baby killing while the other also supported baby killing but now claims to be pro life.

Since you’re so much smarter than me, you’ll realize that whoever wins, conservatism loses... chumly.

If Obama wins, conservatism loses. If Mitt wins, conservatism most likely loses, but it may not.

Simple point.

Nobody forced all the TRUE CONSERVATIVES to sit on their asses and split their votes. That is how it worked out.

that the GOP-E forced

Why do you think it had to be forced?

I don’t presume to know the mind of Jim Robinson well enough to be able to know his desire for responses to this thread.

The article he wrote mentioned “mormonism and Romney and all that garbage” so I would think he would expect posters to respond to all of it.

If you think it was a mistake, you shouild post to him telling him that, instead of telling it to me.

I think it is important that the last bit was put in, as it stimulated some thoughful responses.

Myself, I think Jim knew exactly what he was doing, and did it all for a reason.

YMMV
