On February 21, 1965, a man yelled, "Nigger! Get your hand outta my pocket!"
As
Malcolm X aka Malcolm Little aka El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz and his bodyguards moved to quiet the disturbance, a man seated in the front row rushed forward and shot him once in the chest with a double-barreled sawed-off shotgun. Two other men charged the stage and fired semi-automatic handguns, hitting Malcolm X several times.
The three gunmen who were later convicted to 20 years to life sentences were
all black Muslims and members of the Nation of Islam led by Shabazz's mentor
Elijah Muhammad (1934-1975) aka Elijah Robert Poole and now led by
Louis Farrakhan aka Louis Eugene Wolcott aka Louis X aka Louis Farrakhan Muhammad.
