I think it's fairly obvious that there was an older brother, and he inherited the land, I posted the Kenyan inheritance laws for that very reason. If there had never been an older brother, and if Malik was the son of the kenyan and Kezia as we are expected to believe, Malik would be the clan leader today and would have inherited the land that belonged to Onyango.

But Malik isn't leader of the clan, he didn't inherit. Sarah, wife of Onyango is recorded as telling Malik, no, he couldn't build a mosque when he wanted to, and if he didn't behave, he would be removed.

There's some reason the elder brother has been kept from view, he's always in the background, he wears the cap and carries the whisk which shows his position as leader of the clan. And he could only be that, if he was the eldest son of Onyango.

Passport shows birth year as 1934, but he's buried as born in 1936?

He doesn't look like he's too impressed with his US relative, does he? Maybe he has good reason, and that's not the happy family photo-op it was supposed to be, either.

Yusuf, born c. 1950 to Sarah, is the eldest son of Onyango in Kenya (Omar is the actual surviving eldest) and is Malik’s half uncle. No mystery that he has the cap and whisk, is there?
