Slavery was abolished in Mass in 1780. Not exactly an industrial power at that point.

I am not a moron. I understand that the EP freed no one in the north.

Why can’t you rebels just agree that slavery was an abomination, and you are happy it was outlawed.

People reading these threads just shake their heads at the fact that the supporters of the CSA just cannot bring themselves to agree with abololition.

It’s kind of sad really. Why is it so difficult?

I agree that the Southern states should have outlawed slavery on their own, but will go to my grave believing that the federal government had no business telling the states what to do, and that the 13,14 and 15th amendments are invalid and should be ruled null and void.

Because admitting the truth of the foundation for the csa leaves them in the unenviable position of having to defend The Particular Institution. Thus it is better to strain at strawmen like federal intrusion and phony claims of tyranny.
