Aging rocker and reality TV personality Ted Nugent is emerging, even ahead of Donald Trump, as Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romneys most embarrassing public supporter.
Nugent is at it again, reacting to the Supreme Courts ruling upholding the Affordable Care Act by writing in the Rev. Sun Myung Moons Washington Times that America would have been better off had the South won the Civil War.
A full Nugent rant, which might be subtitled Robe Rage:
The bottom line is that Chief Justice Roberts traitor vote will ensure more monumental spending and wasted taxes and put almost 15 percent of the nations gross domestic product under one of the worlds most bureaucratic, ineffective, incompetent and grossly expensive systems ever devised by man: our out-of-control federal government.

It’d hit it even if it was a he. I’d own that property, and call him Ethyl.
You are a child. The republic is dead in you. But don’t worry I will school you in the republic.
LOL!!! That was funny, do the voices in your head feed you that wonderful material?
Nowadays we call them "undocumented" or "economic refugee" bears.
They came here just trying for a better life. No reason to shoot them.
What does Ted Nugent's uninformed opinion about the Civil War have to do with anything?
It crosses a lot of people's minds that "we" wouldn't have "all these problems we have today" if the South had won the Civil War.
The next step, though, is to realize that "we" would have a lot of other problems -- possibly worse than we have now -- if that had happened, and not everybody gets that far in their reasoning.
Your sign up date, plus jumping right into the middle of a longstanding fight, screams “Retread troll”.
You can call me whatever the hell you want to call me, I really don’t care but if the doofuses want to continue flinging monkeysh*t at each other out of stupidity and spite, be my guest.
I hadn’t noticed your signup date....welcome to FreeRepublic. There are some insecure people on these boards like cva who are distracted by such trivialities - pay them no never-mind.
Well it didn't actually free the slaves in Confederate controlled areas either, because those areas were under Confederate control. As the Union army advanced, slaves were freed. You had to start somewhere.
But even though slaves in Union-controlled areas were technically not freed by the proclamation, if I'm not mistaken, in the areas the the Union army took back, it had already stopped returning slaves who ran away to their masters, so emancipation was going on behind the scenes with or without the proclamation.
Slavery was legal and in practice in the Union at the beginning and end of the civil war.
Not for much longer. Again, emancipation had to start somewhere, and it was complete by the end of 1865. Would the slaves have happened by that date if the rebellion had succeeded?
(Stay in our group, or we will kill you - is a statement of power and control.)
Hmmm ... where did that come from?
Sounds like something slaves would have been very familiar with. Something those who opposed secession probably heard as well.
The Civil War was a struggle between two governments. It wasn't some struggle of "free men" against government itself.
“, I really dont care but if the doofuses want to continue flinging monkeysh*t at each other out of stupidity and spite, be my guest.”
Like you just did. Pot meet kettle.
Well, I thank you for the welcome, I’ve run into many curmudgeons like him in my life, not the sharpest knives in the drawer.
I asked you a question, you’re failure to respond is not my problem.
“Spare me the bullshit grand wizard, you need to pull your head and your hood out of your ass”
I don’t think trying to call FReepers “grand master”, referring to the KKK, is a good idea.
Everybody's kung fu fighting...
“I asked you a question, youre failure to respond is not my problem.”
I don’t know what makes you such a racist idiot, but it really works. You complain people argue about the civil war, yet, you are here doing nothing but name calling.
“Everybody’s kung fu fighting...”
Juvenile response. Got anything a little less childish?
Your post made it sound like; "It was too expensive to own slaves so it would have died out anyway... etc etc". I think THAT's a more derogatory categorization of the South than what you think I was implying. You made it sound like Southerner's have no moral character but only economic interests.
THe reason for looking up sign up dates is a “non-sequitur”.
Dear Lord, not one of those above the brow academia doppelgangers.
How am I a racist? Are you Al Sharpton now?
