That’s true, but we aren’t all brown. At least, those of us who don’t tan aren’t brown. ;o)
My wife, a redhead of Irish/German decent, was porcelain white...except for the freckles...which tanned darkly under the glare of a 10 watt light bulb. No sun required...
Strangely, she got very upset at the nickname “Spot”.
I learned a harsh lesson that day, I assure you ;)
