I understand that you feel for these people who won’t be spending time with their families but times are tough. My husband works rotating shift work and I can’t tell you how many Thanksgivings, Christmas’ etc... we didn’t have him home. In fact, he’ll be working 12 hours this Thanksgiving. So, we will have it a day early or a day later. We have the holiday as a family and not based on a calendar date.

My husband has always worked 12 hour rotating shifts too. He also will be working this Thanksgiving. Like in the past we just move our turkey day to the next day he's off.
