“As far as the burned out headlight...what dont you get about malfunctioning equipment being the standard to allow police to stop ANY suspicious vehicle. It may not be right, but 100% of police use it to stop suspicious activity.”
By your own post, you claim that 100% of LEEO’s abuse the law. Got proof?
One more observation, are you aware that extreme badge lapping can result in tongue spasms?
” uniformed SPPD? Another tourista falls for the masquarade in SF by criminals.”
In San Francisco, leather jackets and handcuffs doesn’t mean they’re cops.
Let me try to explain the video to you as succinctly as possible, ok?
At approximately the 38 sec. mark (that's just over half a minute with a minute being 60 sec.) the reporter states that they were able to review the audio and video evidence and that same evidence substantiates everything the husband has claimed. As a result of that evidence, the officers were put on leave and the case was turned over to internal affairs.............
Additionally, there is no evidence that the wife failed a field sobriety test, especially the claim by officer Gomer that she had alcohol on her breath, which she didn't as evidenced by the TWO subsequent tests given at the police station............
SHAME ON YOU MACGUIRE FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF A POLICE STATE!
One drink, one hour, and your reading is back down to zero.
Anybody that hasn’t had a DWI here would KNOW the only reason for her to refuse the test was to buy time for the drink to wear off. The cop knew this was a stall.
By the way...that is why the PENALTY for refusing a breathalyzer at the scene is so heavy.
You OBVIOUSLY have some skin in this game. The woman said she wasn’t drinking and blew a 0.00 twice.
The cop pulled her over for a malfunctioning headlight or tailight. No ticket, though. It can pretty easily be argued that he pulled her over on false pretenses. And you are advocating that cops can lie about that?
Your arguments on this are a joke. Why don’t you come clean and identify yourself?

Now you’re just being a ridiculous, screechy troll.
The planet I live on is one where a woman stopped for having a headlight out, with a slight odor of alcohol on her breath after attending an awards dinner, is escorted to her destination a mile away by the officer who ticketed her for that burned out headlight.
There is a large element of discretion involved in these matters, even now. We’re not talking about someone stopped for weaving or driving left of center or some other moving violation, here. We’re talking about a putative burned out headlight, on a vehicle driven by a woman who ultimately blew .00000 twice. That’s not a woman who was intoxicated in the least at any point during the course of that evening.
Someone is very naive....
Tell that to officers following a gang of thugs that are driving like driving instructors but the officer is pretty darn sure they are the ones the radio is talking about over a street shooting a block away....
sheese....
NAIVENESS at its best = you.
As I pointed out earlier, an hour after one drink you have a 0.00 reading.
This lady was stalling.
I read the hyped story and initially got as all hyped up as the rest of you here - all ready to throw the officer out of the service.
But being older and wiser - I decided to spend some time looking for the rest of the story... including who the attorney husband is and his record.
When you are making a complaint...you DON’T make a Novel out of it, and you don’t bring up the “Don’t you know who I am” case because if you ARE SOMEBODY the people reading it will already know that....
Lord the naiveness here today is startling.
Total BS. Female out late at night by herself, AND SHE KNOWS SHE HASN’T BEEN DRINKING and the cop says he smells alcohol? If I’m that female (I’m a male, btw) I go into survival mode because a cop is lying to me.
You have had fact after fact given to you here, but choose to ignore them.
Where is the ticket for the broken headlight? There is no ticket because there was no broken headlight.
If the cop smelled alcohol ON HER BREATH, as he stated he did, she would blow a reading. Period. She didn’t.
As a juror, I already see 2 lies by this patrolman.
You are shilling for the state trooper. How do you know him?
Was a headlight out, or not?
Easy fact to verify?
Things might have gone much worse if she had been 23 ...or 33...and/or with no husband to come get her out!
Fascinating story
“As for your claim that the wife “should have blown into the breathalizer when pulled over”, do I need to remind you that we are citizens of the United States and do not yet live under a Police State?”
Jeez... I would expect to read this over at DU...
I think smart people understand why refusing to take a DWI test is in itself a violation...
Care to calculate the amount of time to go from being presumed legally drunk to no reading at all, 0.0000? About a day.
All women would rather believe they were stopped because of their beauty rather than their ineptness behind the wheel.
Also, all women would rather believe the reason they got the ticket is because they took that 2 second stare down after the standard excuse making is over as a proposition...
KEEERIST...
Wrong. Your body rids itself of about an ounce of alcohol per hour.. hence the rule of thumb for drinking and driving that almost EVERY bar tender can give you.

I take it beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In any case I didn't see anything in the article, video or report indicating the officer was looking for sexual favors.
