Already been there. First stop, actually.

So what are you saying here, that you have actually been to Mt.Croghan? When and for how long? Passing through? Business or pleasure?

First stop

and this means what?

Can't find anything indicating some massive population drop. Maybe you can find different. The 1850 census found about 6800 white people living in the whole of Chesterfield County

Mt Croghen was what was called "the village" for the area plantations. The area that surround "the village" was the local plantations and their families. "The village" consisted of the businesses and homes of those that supported life on the plantations. Therefore for an accurate picture of the area pre-war one would need to to study the surrounding areas. My families plantations were actually 3 miles outside of Mt. Croghen. This area would also include areas surrounding the historical boundaries of Anson, NC and Chesterfield County, SC.

A regular Paradise Lost, huh?

It was a place to raise families, work, worship the Lord, and enjoy the good things He provided.

Feel free to support your claims with actual evidence beyond your say-so.

I don't have time to copy and paste for people looking only to rip it apart for their own agenda. If you want to study it, open an unbiased history book.

I don't see any sign of struggle. I think "wallow" would be a better word. But I guess you need some excuse for yourselves.

That's because there was no struggle, only the undefended, black and white women, children, and the elderly. You should be proud.

Try to follow.

and this means what?

The census records. Remember, you said that I should look at them. It was the first thing I looked up. That's where I found that the white population of the county in 1850 was about 6800 people.

Mt Croghen was what was called "the village" for the area plantations.

Like I said, a wide spot in the road.

It was a place to raise families, work, worship the Lord, and enjoy the good things He provided.

Like slaves?

If you want to study it, open an unbiased history book.

Like you've read one.

That's because there was no struggle, only the undefended, black and white women, children, and the elderly. You should be proud.

We were talking about you here, not your ancestors. YOUR struggle against your southern martyr complex. Remember? You're the one who used the word and applied it to yourself.

And I am proud. My ancestors were loyal to the United States, answered the call of the their country, and fought under the flag that I still live under today.

It was a place to raise families, work, worship the Lord, and enjoy the good things He provided.

Including that 37% of the population that was their own personal property.
