The Mongols Nation motorcycle club is seeking more than $11 million from the city for alleged defamation of character and violation of its members' civil rights. In a lawsuit filed June 25, Mongols Nation attorney Albert Perez Jr. accused Lancaster's City Council and city manager of libeling and slandering members of the club, depriving them of their civil rights under color of state law, interfering with a contractual relationship for lodging and food, and inflicting emotional distress.
Because of the alleged wrongs, the motorcycle club is asking the Los Angeles Superior Court to order the city to pay $5 million in general damages as well as unspecified special and punitive damages, plus a penalty of $25,000 for each of about 250 plaintiffs whose civil rights allegedly were violated, as well as reimbursement of fees for attorneys and experts.
Attorney William Litvak said the Mongols' lawsuit was still being reviewed.
However, the club's contention that the city closed the Desert Inn as a pretext to prevent the organization from having an event in Lancaster was inaccurate, he said.
"There were significant code violations that were more than tax issues," Litvak said.
In the documents filed in court, the Mongols' attorney described the club as a "social and fraternal organization designed to foster and promote political, social, economic, educational, religious or cultural viewpoints with an emphasis on riding, operating and maintaining motorcycles
The federal Department of Justice on its web sites and criminal filings has assessed the Mongols organization as one of the nation's most violent motorcycle gangs whose membership has been implicated or found guilty in drug dealing, conspiracy to murder, and murder itself. Earlier this year, 20 members of the gang, including its former president, Ruben "Doc" Cavazos, pleaded guilty to racketeering in federal court

No idea of percentages just know I’ve met my fair share.
I’d answer that if I could figure out what FW1-FWA meant?
F’k with one F’k with all.
And how many 1% judges and doctors have you met?
Ball park numbers.
That is universal in all clubs. Mess with one you have trouble with all. Couldn’t tell you I started riding when I was 23 years old and have met many over the years am almost 50 now. Probably over 100 sicne I’ve rode for so long. We used to have a list of people to call that had numbers from all states just incase you ran into trouble. It was passed to us by another club years ago.Always thought of it as a Get out of jail free card. :)
the biker organizations tend to win these suits.
Governments are stupid and ham fisted in their efforts.
How many times have reporters screwed up the reporting on the law? (remember jeffery toobin, cnn’s law reporter, is a member of the journ-o-list) There may be 1%ers but the reporter could be throwing in groups that wear a patch with rockers which are veterans, retired police, and other clubs which have no history of criminality. Reporters are idiots.
It’s going to be interesting. The mayor is a shrewd lawyer and capable litigator.
remember the legal history of these cases favors the bikers.
AND
The plaintiff’s lawyers get paid by the city win OR lose.
Just as soon as you quit asking silly questions ... and yes my club is a f with 1 f with all ... like most clubs ...including the police clubs ... Christian clubs ... Veteran clubs etc ... you asked the question ... you do the count.
bump
You made the claim about judges and docs riding as 1%ers.
I simply do not beleive that there are enough to cover being a RARE exception.
So back up your statement.
Or am I not allowed to challenge your statements?
Stick it up your back side. No you are NOT allowed. Any body who knows anything about the club world knows we don’t talk about things especially to “people’ like you. You want answers ... go find them yourself. Otherwise F off
You saying 100 1%er judges and docs in over 25 years of your riding?? Or just is that the total number of judges and docs you’ve met riding in 25 years?
Ok...a whole 2 per state average?
Yeah, they’re there but they’re the rare exception based on your numbers.
I know plenty of engineers that ride but not in MC’s.
Some folks like to toss out the ‘you should say that to the judges and docs I ride with’ phrase as if judges and docs are commonplace in most, if not every club.
But as you’ve stated, they aren’t.
No one prospects clubs like HA, Mongols, Outlaws, Ironhorsemen, Sons of Silence, etc unless they are very willing to commit felonies on a regular basis.
But those clubs certainly don’t represent all MC’s...not even 1%, right? :)
Sounds like I called your bluff....or do you just get to invent facts for posting on threads?
Go down to your local biker bar and ask the first 1%er how many people are in his club ... not doctors not judges just how many people. Do it or STFU ... that’s calling YOUR bluff
I see you’re a Patriot Rider ... then you should know of what I speak ... I’m surprised at you for asking questions on FR that would get your butt kicked at any biker bar.
1. You disrespected me by not introducing yourself as a club member when you knew I am one.
2. You are asking questions of a club member that you know are not supposed to be asked ... you disrespected me again.
3. You got in my face when I wouldn't answer you ... you disrespected me a third time.
You know what would happen if you were asking these questions in a biker bar
4. You are supposed to know what 1% really means ... and as a refresher ... it doesn't mean criminal. There are plenty of 1% clubs that are just "party" clubs and don't engage in "hard" crime ... I hear some may smoke a little pot ... oh my.
So stealth club member (I wouldn't do that in person if I were you) ... to answer your stupid question ... you don't know who's who because in the biker world ... we don't talk about who's who
BTW How'd you get your patch anyway ... cereal box tops?
Just an FYI: Sandy does own and operate a Harley... and good lookin to boot!
I used to ride with a RIDING club, NOT an MC. No colors, no earned patch. Association based on fun and enjoyment, nothing else. No dues, no prosepecting, no hassles. Group riding with friends, charity work, etc.
I’ve rode missions with the Patriot Guard but that has nothing to do with club affiliation or even having a bike.
I personally don’t have any use for MC’s, not my thing, not what I want to do, not my cup of tea. I don’t go to “biker bars”.
No problem for those that do, however.
I did not ask you anything about your club. There isn’t anything about your club that I care to know, I’m just not interested.
You offered information and I asked you to quantify it because it seemed as if you were trying to imply that your riding cohorts included plenty of judges and doctors, possibly enough to actually be common place.
You did not say that ‘your club’ has judges or doctors in it, but that you rode with some and that, imo, did not automatically imply club membership.
But you could have said that information was priveleged or strictly club business but you didn’t.
If you want to state or imply that there are lots of judges and doctors riding in 1% or other MC’s be my guest but don’t expect anyone to believe that to be anything more than the exception to the rule.
I’m not sure if I’ve ever rode with a judge but I do know of doctors and I know of many engineers who ride.
So stop acting so offended “disrespected”. You offered info and I followed up with a question based on healthy skepticism.
I NEVER said or implied that 1%ers were criminal. You seem to be inferring things that I did not say or imply...such as being a club member or patch holder.
