No. You aren't. Examine your motives. You said that you disagree. Ok. You can do that. So why are you haunting these threads? To argue. To deride. To ridicule. Because you disagree. You will change no ones mind. That's not what you are trying to do. You are making others defend their opinion. By what right do you do that? The only reason could be that you really do not believe that someone has a right to an opinion different than yours.
Yes I am. They’re my minds. I ought to know.
First, I am not haunting these threads. I stay off most of them because its like trying to talk to brick walls. But there are several reasons I do get on them:
1. It’s fun. I like to argue and with the birther stuff it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. That’s not meant as a personal insult or anything. Its just that there is like zero evidence of anything and most of the suspicions are based either on bad information or faulty legal reasoning.
2. I like FR, and in all honesty, the birthers are generally not highly regarded in the outside world. Even Ann Coulter, who is certainly conservative and not shy, calls the birther stuff fringe cranksterism. So if somebody comes on FR, and all they see is this pro-birther stuff, the whole site gets marginalized.
If FR loses its credibility, good people stop coming here and good people stop reading us. By me, and the other non-birthers giving you guys billy-hell, the outside world can see that we are not all a bunch of birther-types. And, unlike the liberal sites, we show the world that we are not a bunch of sheep, who just follow the party line on everything. Oh no, some of are intelligent and thoughtful, and then some of us are birthers. (Okay, that was a cheap shot, but I ain’t perfect!)
3. People do listen. They may not make a public mea culpa, but they some do learn a little bit and see the error of their ways. I will go cut and paste a private communication I got from someone we saved from birtherism and post it one day.
4. Some birthers like to fuss with me as much as I like to fuss back. I make them more logical, to the degree that is possible.
5. I really think Orly is a curse upon you poor birthers. She’s a lawyer and she has misled you guys and given you a legal aura, that really isn’t there. While I will miss here when she is gone, and get many laughs from her, she deserves the treatment I give her.
