I’d say divert attention and try to demoralize those who seek the truth.
One thing that people sometimes think that is not so - that evil people are always diabolically clever. This is not true at all. Those who are morally blind have many, many blind spots in every field. In fact, “their knowledge is stolen by illusion”. Their own manipulations serve to trap them.
It’ll be a sight to see.
