I do not recall seeing a photograph from the punkster that was the “same” as Orly's image. I posted BP2’s comparison of two similar images, which are the only ones I am aware of.

The punkster could easily have staged his/her photo to look as close as possible to Orly's image after reproducing Orly's image as closely as possible to create a hoax punk.

If you post a link to a punkster image that is in fact literally the same as Orly's (without the schmutz as you claim), I would be very interested and it could well shift the relative probabilities that I currently assign to the two images.

I remember the threads about this and there was a discussion about the fabric background. I wish I could remember who was active on those threads. It seems to me that it was determined or opined strongly that the fabric in the “punk’d” version was not exactly the same, just very close. But if you find out more, ping me if you remember.

Well... the original links on the Punkster's announcement are broken. I was able to find this copy on line though, although I had to convert it to a jpeg from its original tiff image to load it up on photobucket:



It is 1024X768 resolution.

In comparison, here is the image that Orly released (as found on WND)



It is (you will notice immediately) a much lower resolution picture, only 614x529, and it is cropped from the Punkster's larger uncropped original. But you can look at the very dos on the cloth weave to see that they are the same photograph of the same document on the same background.
