(Don’t know enough to have a solid opinion) but you’re loooking at this wrong. If Hayworth is a bad candidate, what’s advocated here is NOT taking a course that will put the seat in Dem hands at a time where we desperately need them to lose seats so they no longer have a 60 seat caucus.”
Hayworth is a true conservative.
Anti big govt.
Pro military
anti amnesty (why McCain has been after him for years)
McCain pulled dirty tricks on Hayworth a few years ago, and is already doing it again. McCain is doing “push polling” and instructing the callers to bad mouth Hayworth.McCain is low life scum. And if I ever run into that slimeball McCain, I would be hard pressed not to punch him in the teeth.
Don’t get me wrong, I see your point, but let me elaborate on mine. I’ve seen some candidates who were great ideologically, but were crappy candidates. Alan Keyes leaps to mind. If Hayworth was one of those, I’d rahter McCain keeps the seat.
My principle is (with the occasional exception) fight for the conservative like the dickens, but back the RINO if the conservative loses the primary. Ergo, if I was an Arizonan, I’d be backing Hayworth unless he was downright atrocious and unable to win.
It’s likely a moot point anyway. Given that the Dems are shooting themselves in the foot on full auto, Hayworth would probably win even if he sucked.
