But I wish I would as that was funny!
34 should have been pulled.
Let's get a few things straight. First, any objection to the pic I posted at 187 is simply ridiculous. As hennie pennie has pointed out (thanks Hennie) the use of the term “drink the kool aid” has to have been used at least 100,000 times on FR. It wasn't even posted to Jim yet people are alleging I called Jim a murderer. Huh?
Give me a break. The feigned outrage over actually posting a pic (which is worth 1000 words) which has also been done many times here to make a point are nothing but crocodile tears.
HP also correctly deduced the meaning. I've posted many times that my concern with the Palin worship is that if she doesn't get the nomination her supporters may be so outraged they pull a “PUMA” and boycott the election which could throw it to Obama. When someone asked what was so wrong with FR being Palin Country the pic told the answer better than I could...supporters might sacrifice their vote in a demonstration of indignation and kill any chance of unseating Obama taking the rest of us with them.
I have to believe 99% of posters understood my meaning and the outrage was feigned disgust and hyperbole.
I've also said many times that I like Sarah but don't love her and most of my comments are directed at the so called Palin worshipers who won't allow ANY kind constructive analysis or criticism of her, her actions or words. I and other critics have been subject to most vile and profane comments one can imagine. Yet all of these are okay and a pic of Jonestown a scandal? How many Palin supporters have expressed criticism at the filthy scatological and homosexual references (not to mention the obligatory ‘go back to DU’ refs) that are posted? Very few if any. So excuse me if I find your “outrage” at any of my comments a little hypocritical and self serving.
Lastly, I think the original question posted here is a valid one. Many on this website are currently engaged in a “burn down the tent” and “run the RINO’s out of town” effort. Anyone who expresses any kind of support for RINO’s, in particular McCain, Graham, etc. are asked to leave. Jim Robinson himself has made it clear that this is a RINO free zone and anyone not with the program is not welcome.
So what if Palin endorses and supports McCain? Does that mean we have to run Sarah out of town? Do people make excuses for it? Does she get a pass? Why not others as well? You can't draw a line in the sand like that then step over it the first time things don't go your way. People constantly talk about maintaining “principles” over politics, is that just talk?
IMO if this happens, it will be an opportunity for people to show their words weren't just loud but empty political rhetoric. Will Palin/anti-RINO supporters stick to their principles or toss them overboard for political expediency?
I got an idea how it will go down, I just wanted to hear from the people who are going to be effected most by it.
For the last time, if Palin wins the nom I will vote for her in the general. She hasn't won me over yet but there is still time. I'm not a Mittbot or Huckster or Paulite. Like Palin, there are things I like and don’ like about all of them. If Cheney were to run I would support him. I like DeMint and want to see where he goes. I haven't picked a candidate to support yet, it's still a long way off and nobody has declared.
Does the bear drink Kool-Aid in the woods?
What is it about John McCains’ brand of “conservatism” that you like most?
“34 should have been pulled.”.
According to other posters it was and then reinstated, why I don’t know but it has got to mean something. But if anyone were to go over Palin threads over the last couple of months (not that anyone would or should) they would see that kind of reference many times as well as scatalogical, homosexual, sexual and masturbatory.
It all stays up so why not this? The little children who post them get such a kick out of it then ping their bretheren so they can all high five each other and revel in their intellectual prowess.
BTW - I admit to using FR time tested terms like blind, ignorant and stoopid. I don’t think they are in the same category but I’m sure some will equate them as such to provide a fig leaf for their own unexcusable behavior.
I’d just like to say Bob, that I appreciate your re-directing the usual indignation, faux-outrage and twisted panties of all these Freepers towards YOU, instead of their usual daily target, i.e. ‘me’, lol
The same thing happens on the birther / Taitz worship threads.
It's a trend.
It hardly gets more childish than a poster looking at a freep name and seeing the letters B and J close together, and thinking that he is seeing his big posting opportunity.
It compounds it when he uses the phrase and then throws in another curse word.
How are you doing Gunner?
I’ve come to admire the way you can p*ss off other posters with just a few select words (not that your #370 falls into that category), although I still didn’t appreaciate your less-than-complimentary comments about Duncan Hunter during the primaries, but hey: to each their own.
btw, Happy New Year! :)
Well said. No chance of a PUMA reaction since Sarah has already proven she WILL back the team. Her fans will stay with her I believe.
“What is it about John McCains brand of conservatism that you like most?”
Uhhh, who said I did? On the night of his election I posted the “Official FR Drinking Thread” where we all got drunk and lamented his nomination together. Then of course there were my famous “McCain Haiku” threads. But I’m sure you missed those since you don’t know what Haiku is.
If I ever was complementary to McCain on one issue, let’s say his support of vets or the war on terror, I am forever branded a McCain lover. Same with Romney, Rudy, etc.
On FR it’s impossible to see candidates as shades of grey, it’s black and white, my way or the highway.
And that’s what got us McCain. While the Mitt/Rudy/Huck/Fred supporters were drawing a line in the sand and playing a game of Mexican standoff, he slips in under the radar.
Thanks.
I think it was my turn...
I hope so. Hillary eventually backed Oabma but the PUMA’s still went on a rampage.
“Bob J has gotten behind Newt, Romney, McCain, and has always been very nice about Giuliani, but Bob hates Palin.”
Ardent Palin supporters (Palinistas) need to get over characterizing any criticism of Sarah as “Palin hatred”.
Seriously, it’s infantile.
Happy new year to you as well!
Me I think the whole PUMA thing was a False Flag operation.
Some criticism of Sarah actually *is* "Palin hatred." In that case the conclusion is justified and the criticism itself is juvenile.
That's for the FReepers to decide.
That's what the FReepers are doing right now.
You're losing.
