No, I beg to disagree. A lawyer can defend one who has committed a crime, but a lawyer becomes an accomplice when he/she participates in or facilitates the criminality with the principal in a continuing criminal enterprise.

YELP. One has only to look at the judges and lawyers who were convicted in the crime wave in the ‘80s in CHicago.
