I think she intended to go native and deliver in Kenya- when she recognized he was a bigamist and his family hated her white guts and would never accept her, and that being a minor African “wife" to a muslim in a polygamous marriage and in a culture where men were freely accepted to bang anyone they looked at... was not so glamorous after all..the "emotional cruelty" of her "marriage" began when she landed in Kenya and found out she was nothing but a minor trophy

Yep, I can agree with all that. Others were wondering why she had him in Mombasa when Nairobi was much closer to O Sr.'s home village. Trying to get back to Hawaii (or Seattle--good point) by boat, after the airline wouldn't let her fly, explains her presence in Mombasa.

Speaking of boats, apparently one of Stanley's Seattle friends mentioned that she had received a post card from Stanley on a boat in the summer of 1981. SHE LATER REATRACTED HER STATEMENT.

I believe that she is one of a handful of Stanley's acquaintances who later retracted something that they said about BHO. Sounds fishy to me.
