See if you can find the AASF as sponsors on any of the immigration documents.

Tom Mboya’s connection to the kenyan student is a myth. There’s nothing that ties the Kenyan to the AASF that I can see.

His ticket to Hawaii was paid for by Elizabeth Mooney. He only had enough money for one or two semesters. And when Elizabeth married, she could no longer send him money. His sponsors are then shown as THE AFRICAN AMERICAN INSTITUTE.
