But you shoulda told me. You can be blunt, you can do so after the fact, without further discussion or recourse. Just a private message saying "pulled - garbage" would have been sufficient.
I am not a mod. I happened to click on it and it was already pulled with the reason stated. I was curious so I googled the title. You have been here long enough that you should know that that kind of crap is not allowed.
Did you FReeper-mail the mods to ask why?
As I understand it, the moderators on this site are volunteers, meaning they give of their own personal time to help out here.
While it would be nice for them to provide an explanation for every action they take in moderating, after moderating a forum myself, I can tell you that explaining every deletion is impossible. Moderators have lives, too, and if they get into a discussion with every poster about the post they moderated (which is bound to happen -- because usually people aren't satisfied with the first explanation, or even the tenth), they won't get much else done.
I have a hunch if you leave you'll regret it. The point you are trying to make will be forgotten by most by tomorrow, and within a few weeks or months only a handful if that will consciously still miss you. You, on the other hand, will miss FR continuously. It's obviously been a big part of your life, and I promise you the hole left in your life will be much bigger than the hole left here by your leaving.
I tend to agree it would be nice to advise the poster when/if his/her thread is pulled, at least a long-time FReeper. On the other hand I can see how that could be readily abused and begin to consume a lot of the mods’ time if some sporting DU’s decided to come in and continuously put up offensive threads. Perhaps mod discretion could be used to notice known posters.
