Lincoln’s War
Tenth Amendment Center ^ | May 04, 2009 | Judge Andrew P. Napolitano

One of the greatest misconceptions of American history is that the Civil War was fought over slavery. Those who subscribe to this belief see President Abraham Lincoln as the benevolent leader who made unimaginable sacrifices in human blood to wipe out America’s greatest sin. While the human sacrifice is indisputable and the sin was monumental, the war’s purpose was not to free blacks from the shackles of bondage. Rather, the Civil War was fought with one purpose in mind: To preserve the Union at all costs. And, to put it in Lincoln’s terms, with no ifs, ands, or buts. You’d better agree with the president, or else.

That would be just plain Innes Randolph. Like you, he expressed his complete hatred of the U.S. and anything to do with it. And like you, he somehow managed to stomach it enough to make a good income while living here

You throw that hate word around alot also, is your hatred of the Southern Independence movement[lost cause] greater then the hate expressed by the late great Southern Patriot and hero Major Randolf for the USofA? What do you want for me anyway? Is it lonely under that Federal Boot? Do you want company? What already?

I don't think I approach the hatred you and he show to the USofA, no. And if it did, I don't express hatred of your new confederacy v 2.0 and then live there. Hypocrisy if very much your bailiwick.

What already?

Honesty would be nice. Innes Randolph hated the United States and everything to do with it. Do you?

He would have given it all up, even his life, to be free from the Federal Yankee government, in an independent Confederate Nation. I ditto that sentiment and envy him, at least he got a chance at it, I probably never will. Does that make you happy?

Quite frankly, it is not hatred at all, it is disgust. The US of A is not good enough for me, I want better, I deserve better and my descendents deserve better. They deserve to live in a true republic. Who knows how the CSA would have ended up, I don't think they would have allowed the dictates of Richmond be the last and final word, post victory.

As for the US of A it started out well but the statists have finally won. Being from the south and hooked to socialist/Marxist Northerners sucks. Hate no, I would actually have to give a sh*t to hate. I just want away.

Your dismissive attitude represents everything I disgust, a Republic crushing Constitutional prostitutionalist.

Dixie ain't dead yet!! Just as long as hearts beat and whispers spoken- She lives!!

Have they really won? I think that's what upsets them Blue scum-bellies SO much= After 140+ years we would STILL fight Just look at what these little skirts resting a guilt trip on us- Maybe they know the first fight was a FLUKE!

It's entertaining how Lincoln's supporters hang their augments on Madison Not Saint Lincoln!

Us= States joined voluntary and can leave voluntary

Them= Madison said you must have permission and a Lincoln stacked Court after the fact

When Saint Lucifer/Lincoln believed nothing even remotely close

Who had seceded in the Penhallow case? What state?

Doesn't matter, 3 of the 4 justices held that a state could unilaterally secede.

I appreciate the sentiment but I am a peace loving man, it is only a fight if THEY make it a fight. Let them take the first shot, then return fire with everything. I don't equate secession with war, the Yankee does that - not me.

I will ask you this; do you LOVE the entity "United States" as defined in the Constitution i.e. 535 + 1 nitwits running 300,000 million? Do you LOVE how it is working out so far?

Yes it does. Assuming, for the sake of arguement, that you are correct courts can still only rule on actions which have actually happened. Since no state had actually seceded, the any comments made on secession in the Penhallow decision were made in dicta and under the doctrine of stare decisis are therefore not binding.

My head throbs from the continuing yammering of all you lost causers and your babbling about seceding. So go already.

And when he blew his chance, instead of divorcing himself from that country he carried such hatred for, he went meekly back to living under that Yankee government. It's kind of funny that any U.S. loving Innes Randolph living in your new confederacy would be locked up, jailed without charge, and either left there to rot or deported to the U.S. Or so your confederate compatriots would have us believe.

You deserve what you work for. You just sit on your butt, complain about everything, whine about how you'd just loooove to secede someday, maybe, if someone would do it for you. You don't work for your precious secession. You don't work to fix the country you have such contempt for. You don't leave. You don't do anything. Except complain. And I'm not supposed to be dismissive over an attitude like that?

It still beats the alternative - your rebel police state.

I think that is what YOU really would have done to all Rebs post CW, YOU would have wanted those things done; hang 'em all. Projection. Maybe the fictional Jose Wales was right then, you shouldn't give up, ever. Got it Yank, lesson learned. Thanks for the insight.

Absoluely not. I base these statements on what your compatriots - Idabilly, Rustabout, Cowboyway, et.al. - have said when asked what would be the fate of homosexuals, Muslims, liberals, and anyone else not hewing to the rebel line in your new confederacy. Without exception all would lock them up and forcibly deport them. So it's clear that in their brave new Southron world civil rights are something granted only to those chosen few. And it's plain that I'm not projects a Southron police state, your projecting one with liberty. So maybe the insight should be that your Dixie rerun won't be anything like what you imagined it would be. Any more than what you fantasize the original was like.

Maybe the fictional Jose Wales was right then, you shouldn't give up, ever. Got it Yank, lesson learned. Thanks for the insight.

Ah "Outlaw Josey Wales". Can quotes from "Gods and Generals" be far behind?
