SJackson: Actually I've noticed the fiercest don't support anyone, whether they could win or not.

I consider myself among the fiercest, certainly, not many others who are 'worse'. I like Ron Paul (because I have for decades). I'm excited about Thompson. I'm interested and intrigued by Romney if I can convince myself he'll keep his promises to us. And I'll even vote for McCrazy, bad as he is, if he can get past us in the primary because I do try to be loyal to the party, however disloyal they are to us after we elected them.

But I don't vote for known liberals. I have even voted against close relatives who merely favored a (unnecessary) bond increase. I don't vote for those who speak in favor of abortion, who opposed the PBA and now pretend not to. I don't vote for those who have been endorsed and funded by NARAL as one of their Champions Of Choice. I don't vote for those who campaigned with the Brady Bunch against our gun rights (RIGHTS!!! I think we should all think about that word. McStain's worst sin is that he is a known enemy of the First Amendment and justly deserves the derision he has earned by his own efforts.) Those are not some mere legislatively granted privileges that can be rescinded. I won't vote for that one Republican who attended Xlinton's Rose Garden signing and celebration of the Assault Weapons Ban. I won't vote for these who use their power in a city or state to launch lawsuits designed to destroy the gun industry. And I will not vote for those who have said, honestly and truthfully, that "Most of Xlinton's policies are similar to my own." Because I believe him when he said that. Some of you must think he was lying to you then. Or else he's lying now. Me, I discard and oppose any candidate that dishonest out of hand. Parsing political speech in such a tortured way is a hallmark of the candidates of the Left.

Now, with the one noted exception, none of those things can be said of McStain, our next most unacceptable mainstream candidate. And I loath to say any nice word about him. But when someone has worked so hard for the enemy and is proud of it, I have no reason in the world to ever support and will oppose such persons as long as I am a Republican. And when the Republicans decide to go full-blown liberal with leftwing candidates to head our ticket, then I will no longer be a Republican.

It's non-negotiable for me. I'm not interested in another variety of liberal to vote for.

Now, after so long here at FreeRepublic, are you honestly going to pretend that any of this is surprising to you? Those are pretty ordinary views for any FReeper and they always have been.

I consider myself among the fiercest,...

I probably should have said the most foul mouthed. I don't recall you hyperventalating about his sexuality, his cancer, he wife's job, his supporters sexuality, their loyalty, posters religions and other nonsense. If you have, it's counter productive. So many points against Rudy, other candidates just as attractive from the perspective of terror, and the issues get lost in nonsense which simply plays into Rudy's hands.

This thread, for example, isn't about Rudy at all, it's about the characterization of Romney as a child-rapist, a child-beater, and the antichrist. I'd suggest that for an 800 post plus thread, there's way too little condemnation of those tactics.

btw, Now, after so long here at FreeRepublic, are you honestly going to pretend that any of this is surprising to you? Those are pretty ordinary views for any FReeper and they always have been., I doubt that. I'd guess that a great many Freepers can recognize that there's a difference between President Hillary and President Rudy. Just as there's a difference between Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer; and John Boehner; Harry Reid and Robert C. Byrd, and Mich McConnell and Trent Lott.

In fact that when it comes to conducting a war, there's a difference between a Republican and Democrat Congress. An issue to be dealt with after the primaries. April is far too soon to concede Rudy a victory.
