People who like Melinda's kind of music are like you and me. We wouldn't dream of voting. It's not our thing. We're "mature".

That same curse happened to Chris Daughtry. Those who thought he was the best singer in the competition (and he was) just couldn't bring themselves to call that number. Rockers and x-gens just don't engage in such juvenile behavior.

This competition will be settled by the middle schoolers and pre-teens. I think Blake has the edge with that crowd. Jordin appeals to old fogeys like me. I don't vote.

boy, isn't that the truth. i consistently told my middle school daughter that blake had ZERO chance of making it into even the final two, let alone winning it all. i had not considered that there are millions of little teenyboppers like her out there texting their heads off. i was sure melinda would be THE American Idol and Jordin second.
