Reba's 'Duets' album is due to be released September 18, so there isn't any cover art available yet. But 'Because of You' is the first single off the album. It gets released to radio tomorrow.
Congratulations to Carrie on her latest award.

Melinda to be voted off next. Blake and Jordin will advance to finals. Jordin will be next American Idol.
Zabasearch has really lost credibility. Last year they posted charts showing vote totals for the contestants. They usually posted them after 9AM and then the final counts around noon.
This year they haven’t done that and they have a prediction for Melinda leaving tomorrow. What this is based on, I have no idea, since all the votes are not in at the time.
Also, they have this posted:
Lakisha Voted Off!
This American Idol final vote graph was published 10 hours before the voting results show aired on May 9, 2007.
Bold lie on their part. They did NOT have any chart showing the vote totals for last week prior to the results show. I kept checking in with them and updating/refreshing. No chart. I even posted in their forum about how they led people on by asking them if they wanted them to post the results again this year and how they hadn’t done so, and I made a post after the show started commenting on their lack of results and charts prior to the show.
I even asked if they were affiliated with AI since they were no longer posting any results ahead of time and commented on how they didn’t post any chart or results for the week of the great begathon. No one but AI knew that there would be no one voted off so zabasearch should have had a prediction ‘unless’ they were in the know via AI.
Anyway zabasearch is a big nothing this year.
Also here's a link to a downloadable file of the Reba-Kelly performance tonight. Ain't the internet great! :)
I love their performance. Simple, understated and moving. They both looked lovely, also. The amazing thing about 'Because of You' is that Kelly wrote it when she was just 16. Now it's a Grammy-winning pop smash and Kelly won a coveted ASCAP songwriter's Song of the Year award for it. And its on its way to becoming one of the true standards of our time, likely to be covered by many artists in years to come. I wonder how Country music fans will receive this beautiful duet. It isn't really true Country, although Reba gives it a twang.
Lastly, here's an interesting article from The Village Voice about Kelly's struggles with Clive Davis and RCA. Can you believe they wanted Kelly to put a cover of a lame Lindsay Lohan song on her new album? It's a song that was on LinLo's last album. That was confirmed by Kelly in a recent interview. No wonder Kelly fought so hard to do her own music. The album may succeed or fail, but at least she's not doing the usual airheaded commercial formulaic pap the record companies keep shoving out to the music-buying public. And then they wonder why music sales are falling. Un-frickin-believable! The music boards and entertainment media have been all a-twitter about this struggle with RCA. The LinLo thing about put everyone into a mental ward. ;-)
I know Carrie wants to do some writing or co-writing on her next album. I sure hope they don't put her through the same wringer.
As for Kelly, she said she's the one who has to sing the songs every day, so why shouldn't she at least sing something she likes. Also, she says she has enough money, so if her instincts are wrong on this album and it fails, at least she didn't sell out. Brave girl, 'cause the likes of Davis and RCA can squash her career like they were swatting flies.
If you haven't heard the news yet, Kelly will be on the AI finale this year.
