Next week, they’ll tell her that she needs to flash the McPheaver to make it to the final four.

OK, here’s Tony’s Keeping it Real rating:
1) Melinda - she’s the odds on one to beat.
2) Jordan - You gotta love her! Great voice and generally a nice girl.
3) Gina - great vocal out of her usual rocker style. Nice outfit too.
4) Lakisha - would have been #3 but did that annoying thing at the end of the song.
5) Haley - yes, Haley. Her best vocal to date and you can’t count out that dress!! WOW!!
6) Phil - best male of the night in spite of the judges. I think the “I sang it to my wife” comment will get him votes tonight.
7,8,9 (about the same) - Sanjaya, Blake and Chris R. - They all sounded the same. Weak voices but at least Sanjaya was “entertaining.”
Blake’s worst performance to date and I normally like him. Chris R the Judges “golden boy” just isn’t in the same league.
Who should go: Chris R
Who will go: Probably Haley - Thanks for the mammories!
Maybe Sanjaya this week?

They were a LOT more disapproving of Haley than Sanjaya.
Strategery. Haley gets sympathy and stays, thus evening off the divas. Sanjaya hopefully gets the boot. So far their tactics are not working.

This is who I was thinking of! Lakisha needs a new hairdo, because she reminds me of this guy....

There’s our little mascot. By the way, nobody sang “I Left My Heart...” or will Tony do it tomorrow and dedicate it to Queen Pelosi.

Blake just aiiight but the best of the boys. I dug the outfit. Vey clean cut but young and trendy. The song was fun, he was entertaining. Proved he could bring it without beatboxing.
Phil I like the hair! Unfortunately with the lighting he looked a bit like a Taelon (obscure Sci Fi reference). The tux + the ears =vaguely reminescent of one of those Irish Tenors. Judges panned it but I liked the big voice he used. He's on the short list for going home.
Short Stuff got complimented again for the first time in her life. Great dress - excellent proportions. She really is too good for this competition.
Chris R. Mr. Forgettable. The hat was gratuitous. The dancing was cute. Doesn't have the voice (strength or range) for this genre. Decent performance, all things considered.
Jordin Amazing voice. Amazing. Solid performance, getting better every week. She's my choice now that Chris S. has jumped the shark. The outfit was a total stinker.
Gina Gina Gina. I want so much for her to do well. She's a complex gal. The arrangement completely overwhelmed her. The tongue stud was vey distracting. I just can't imagine this performance connected with the voting audience on any level. I'm afraid she's vulnerable this week. Dangit.
Girlyboy (I can't bring myself to call him Mangina because there's no Man there.) DH is sitting next to me shouting at the TV, "YOU FREAK ME OUT!! YOU FREAK ME OUT!! YOU FREAK!!!" That's about all there is to say... other than never ever ever wear linen. It winkles.
Hayley Gawd what an awful dress. When yer wobbly bits are about the only reason yer still in the competition, it's a bad idea to advertise your pencil test score. The performance was over the top pagenty, maybe a bit Vegas, but that's probably the sequins talking there. Probability of surviving another week is proportional to the amount of skin shown. She's safe for another week. Dangit.
Lakisha pulling off a Queen Latifah look. Elegant, but not as flattering as last week's silhouette. Her performance was big and excellent as usual. But it's like every other song she's performed. She's getting boooooooring.
Highlight of the evening is the Transformers trailer. Who should go home? Girlyboy. Who will go home? Phil or Gina.
