I said the same thing to DH. Even he couldn't believe it and he really doesn't have much to say about these things. From how it sounded last night she'll have trouble fulfilling even a one year contract. Maybe she'll end up singing backup for Barry Manilow at the Hilton.

Thought so the 1st time I saw her reaction to him.
The only thing I don’t like about the basic yet brilliant concept of A I is the word Idol in the Title and or people’s idolesque reaction/responses!
That’s why I always abbreviate the title to A I.
The final song/send off was lack luster and plain jane compared to other endings/final song/send off’s.
There I think that about covers it re: my A I season finale thoughts!

American Idol – Taylor Hicks’ Fans Upset By Clive Davis Comments On Finale

Taylor Hicks’ fans are usually pretty sensitive when it comes to how he is portrayed on American Idol, and they have good reason to be. During the American Idol 5 competition, Simon Cowell was very vocal in his criticism of Taylor Hicks, saying almost everything possible to try to derail a Taylor Hicks’ win .
During the American Idol 6 auditions, Simon Cowell repeatedly took swipes at Taylor Hicks. Cowell suggested that one contestant stick their gum on Taylor Hicks’ face on the set’s backdrop and claimed that a contestant singing a blues song blew Taylor Hicks out of the park.
On the American Idol 6 finale, it wasn’t Simon Cowell, but Chairman & CEO of BMG Label Group Clive Davis, who raised the ire of Taylor Hicks’ fans. Before presenting an award to Carrie Underwood recognizing her success in selling six million copies of her debut album, Clive Davis made a statement that seemed to almost be rubbing Chris Daughty’s success in the faces of Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee.
Davis said “So here’s this year’s report card for the American Idol album franchise. The big news has been the huge explosion of Chris Daughtry. Yes, Taylor Hicks’ new single of ‘Heaven Knows’ can still take him and his platinum album much further. And the new single ‘Love Story’ can still do it for Katharine McPhee. But it’s been Daughtry who’s broken through as the entire music industry’s biggest selling artist of the year.”
Even though Clive Davis’ comments were likely well intentioned, they have not been well received by fans of either Hicks or McPhee on the American Idol message boards. While Davis was likely just trying to acknowledge Hicks and McPhee while he praised Daughtry’s success, it’s also easy to see how the remarks could be interpreted as a dig at last year’s winner and runner-up. Considering all the previous comments made by Simon Cowell about Taylor Hicks, it’s also easy to see how Taylor Hicks’ fans in particular would be perturbed by these comments.
Season 3 Premiere Season Three of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE premieres with two audition episodes: a 90-minute show on Thursday, May 24 8/7c and a special two-hour episode airing Wednesday, May 30 8/7c.
I'm actually going to watch that show this year, and that American Inventors show. Not sure if I'll watch America's Got Talent, what with the weirdos and oddballs they had on it last season.

They better get the message, because they have totally lost sight of what this show is really about, and what made it popular.
According to entertainment news, for yesterday's finale show FOX averaged a 17.2 rating/28 share for the night and about 29.5 million viewers -- down sharply from the 36.4 million who watched last year's "Idol" finale.
AI is still the #1 show on TV, but it lost a lot of ground this season.
They also better get their heads out of their *sses and realize that when they diss winners they also diss the fans that got that winner there. They don’t have to like the style of music that their current winner does, just let the performer do their thing and the fans will do theirs.
Their obvious manipulation and disparagement of winners only makes them look bad and brings the whole show down after they spent so much time building it up.

I agree with you completely. What Clive Davis did last night is the talk of the entertainment blogs and forums, and the commentary has been uniformly negative toward him.
When you get home, check out the video link on the Blake parody. It’s pretty funny and probably too much for your cell.
Yeah, I’m surprised by the commentary regarding Clive today on the forums I have read so far. Even people that aren’t Taylor fans recognize the disrespect shown.
How would Jordin’s fans feel if she got the same treatment that Taylor has had to endure?

If you read the comments there are a lot of pissed people! They do raise a good point and that is why the overtime wasn’t corrected for the west coast?
